LSU-Nebraska or LSU-Texas A&M would get me really fired up. Both of those potential matchups have me already gettin excited.

A&M WILL NOT go to the Cotton BOWL.

Why not, if Nebraska loses in big 12 championship they will have the same number of losses. A&M would bring a lot more fans to Dallas then Nebraska.

The AD is going to pick the one that pays LSU the most money. Instead of a petition, you should take donations to make up the difference between the Cap 1 bowl and the Cotton Bowl. I think it is a couple of million dollars.

Payout for bowl does not go directly to LSU. It goes to the SEC and is divided 13 ways. That said, a school does get more "travel money" when they play in a higher payout bowl.

Regardless, the difference in payout between Cap1 and Cotton is just over a million dollars ($3 million vs $4.2 million), not "millions." That money does not go directly to the school, though, so the conversation about "money to LSU" as it relates to bowl payout is moot.

FWIW, Outback and Cotton have the same payout at $3mil.

Lots of people in Dallas relaying that A&M to Cotton is a done deal.

A&M will have the same number of losses as Nebraksa/OU loser, and the Cotton is having its 75-yr anniversary this year and wants to get back to its SWC roots suppposedly.

A&M-LSU would pack Cowboys Stadium and renew a good old rivalry.

A&M to Cotton is all but signed, sealed and delivered.

The Cotton bowl has already said it does not want the loser of the Big 12 Championship game since they will have lost in the same stadium 5 weeks before.

Whoever loses the Big 12 Champ game is headed to San AnMexico for the Alamo against Zona.

Plus, if it comes down to OU/Nebraska v. A&M for the Cotton, they'll look at head to head as well. Guess what? A&M beat both this year.

Going to Dallas for the Kickoff next year. I will make the Capital One Bank Bowl trip to Orlando to see Harry Potter, thank you.

The year before a national championship.
History repeating itself?

Main reason why I'd like to see the Tigahs in the Cotton...good experience ahead of the '11 opener vs UO.

Only college football game that day.

Technically, this is incorrect. In fact, it's not even the only game in the DFW area. The NCAA DI Football Championship game is January 7, 2010 at Pizza Hut Park in Frisco, TX (home of the Dallas MLS team).

As previously stated, we actually prefer the Cotton Bowl this particular year.
I hear this from the same LSU fans every year. For whatever reason they always seem to want to dis Orlando in favor of Dallas. What is best for LSU is to get the best payout, the best bowl and the best opponent possible.

There are literally thousands of aTm supporters here in N. Texas that I believe would jump for a shot at the Tigahs.

That said, I believe LSU winds up in Orlando vs. Meeeeechegan State.
