I think any of the B12 top three are a bad matchup for LSU. B10 team would be a better matchup.

Didn't the Capital One put in artificial turf this year? Don't they also have a bigger pay out?

Why would we pick a lower level bowl in that case?

Cap1 is certainly a good bowl, and Orlando definitely has its perks, but I just don't want Cap1 two years in a row.

And I also feel everything about the Cotton Bowl is better than the Cap1 currently...stadium, setting around stadium, kickoff day/time, only game on that day.

Most likely Michigan State is going to the Cap 1 if that changes anyone's opinion here, and Iowa is probably going to the Outback. I would love to see LSU/Iowa or MSU, but would also love an LSU/Oklahoma or Nebraska game too.

I'm torn

LSU-Iowa is a yawner to me... LSU-Michigan State is as well. Ohio State, Michigan, and PennSt are really the only 3 teams in the Big10 that get me excited.

IMO, everyone is better off if it's Bama-Michigan State in Cap1 and LSU vs A&M/Neb/Okl in the Cotton.

I think MSU is MUCH better off playing LSU than Bama so I disagree with you. LSU is much less consistent than Bama so I think MSU would have a better shot of beating the Tigers.

MSU is such a hit or miss team this year, I think them matching up against LSU would be perfect

Iowa doesn't excite me, but playing a higher ranked team certainly does. If it does turn out LSU vs Michigan State it reminds me of the time LSU played Miami in the Peach. Probably one of the best matchups rankigs wise of the entire bowl season. If I recall Miami was ranked in the top 10 that year.

Despite what Michigan State is ranked, I think LSU gets more respect nationally from beating a Nebraska or Oklahoma in DFW than they do from beating Michigan St in Orlando.

I do agree that LSU matches up very well with Michigan State. out of all the possible matchups, Xs-and-O's-wise, that is probably the game that on paper looks like the biggest win for LSU.

...I prefer a top ten matchup on New Year's Day. I vote for Capital One Bowl.

Not a huge fan of the Big 12 myself.

I also don't like the playing date. What the heck are they doing playing a meaningless game so late Jan 7th?

More exposure. Cotton Bowl is positioning themselves to be the next BCS bowl game, and they'll probably get it.

This is the thing. LSU WON'T play A & M in the Cotton. It will be the loser of the Big 12 title game.

I don't doubt that and I wouldn't mind playing in the Cotton Bowl just prefer the matchup with a highly ranked Big 10 Co-champ on New Years day.
