I agree on all points, and not because I live here, although that does build in a little bias. I just think those that are downplaying the Cap 1 are shortsighted. They are thinking about the field conditions, the surrounding neighborhood and the drive. All of which only affect them. The best thing for LSU is to play the highest profile bowl against the best team and in this case a more beatable team, hopefully.

You think Mich State is more beatable than Texas A&M?

Never thought I would see the day that Tiger Fans would prefer a game in Texas vs Florida during the month of January

Of course you pick up on the one point that may be my weakest, but it still builds on the bigger point in that the prestige of playing and beating Michigan State with only one loss and ranked significantly higher than aTm is also MUCH better for the LSU program. You are getting all caught up in what's more desirable/convenient for you, not what's best for the LSU program, in my humble opinion of course.

I imagine if the Cotton Bowl was still in the Cotton Bowl, many people favoring the Cotton Bowl would not be favoring the Cotton Bowl.

Of course, times have changed. Not only is the game in the premier football stadium in the world, it's also no longer at 10am in the morning. It's got a primetime kickoff on a Friday night, and is the only bowl game that day, not to mention the last major bowl game before the BCSCG.

I wonder which bowl the coaches and players prefer. I don't think they had a whole lot of nice things to say about the trip last year.

The weather did suck in Orlando last year... The odds are that the weather will be worse in Dallas than Orlando or Tampa. Yes it is a dome stadium but its still Dallas in January.

I think it is a great idea for the team to play in the Cotton. All of our returning players next year will be a bit more familiar with the environment, track, atmosphere etc. etc...when we line up against the Ducks....

Good point...I'd also as a fan like to get a "lay of the land" before I return there for the 2011 season opener.

I don't really care where we go.LES just have your team READY to play, cause after that pathetic performance against Arkie, A & M AND MSU BOTH have something to prove more than LSU does. Thye will come out really Fired up and ready to Knock heads.

easily. I don't know why people don't understand that. nothing to gain by playing an 18th ranked team
