Strangely, they identify Alabama-Florida as the most significant rivalry of the decade. I concur that the Alabama-Florida game has been important over the last two or three seasons, but I wouldn't say it was the most pivotal rivalry of the DECADE. The teams don't even play each other each season. And I don't believe they faced each other in an SECC between 2000 and 2007.

LSU/Auburn was much bigger than either of the two they picked for LSU in the 2000s.

LSU florida should be #1...

Alabama florida? Are you kidding me? They only played eachother like 4 times this decade. ESPN is retarded.

LSU vs Florida determined the winner of BCS championship in 2006,2007,and 2008. Whoever won that game went to the NC. Now thats an important rivalry

Alabama-Florida #1 for the decade is insane. Sure 08 and 09 were epic,but two years don't > 10.

10 and 9 shouldn't be on that list. No one cares about those games.

Oklahoma-Texas should easily be #1. LSU-Florida mattered for 2 years, same as Bama-Florida. I would think LSU-Auburn was bigger than LSU-Florida.

I actually had a conversation with a friend a few weeks ago about what the most significant consistent matchup of the 2000's was and we came up with OU-Texas.

Bama-Florida at 1 is a joke. Only 2 games were a big deal. LSU-Florida should be #2.

Louisville/WV = awesome rivalry.

They only played 5 times and WV won 4. And neither had any national title implications.

Schlabach is such a douche.

How can a game only played couple of times be the best rival of the decade. LSU/ Auburn?

But Colonel Toady posted earlier this week that Ole Miss is LSU's biggest rival?

Yeah, the Fl-Bama rivalry??

WTF. Maybe in the 90's, but definitely not this past decade

Yeah, that's just utter bullshite.

According to that list, the 2004 Iowa-Penn St. game had a score of 6-4 with Iowa winning. That must have been a struggle to watch.

Yeah, this is a pretty strange list. LSU/Florida and OU/Texas are clearly the top due to participants in the MNCG and continued success of all 4 programs.

Oregon was a speedbump for USC until recent years. Louisville was only in the Big East since 05. Bama/Florida? Very odd list.

They did not include LSU vs Auburn in anticipation of those game being forfeited by Auburn in the near future.
