Parrain' is feasible; however, LA Lagniappe is preferred.

I'm assuming they have a bar. Good or bad assumption.

This. Parrain's is okay...not great by any means.

Parrain's is pretty terrible imo. GO with Langiappe, hell I'd even go with Bonefish Grill over Parrain's.

Good appetizers but horrible, horrible entrees. Their fish is some of the worst I've ever had in a restaurant. I've been 3 times when someone else chose the place.

Been a handful of times and thoroughly enjoyed it. Some of the better thin-fried catfish I've had. Their pork chop is fantastic, too.

Parrain's is good for a casual dining seafood restaurant. I like it!

Parrain's is a good, mid-range seafood place. Pretty good fried food and gumbo, but don't expect greatness. Whatever you order will probably come with a twice-baked potato, the bane of Baton Rouge cuisine. The atmosphere is noisy, friendly, lots of wood and hanging fish nets. The bar is fine.

What you might consider as an alternative, same atmosphere, same area, slightly cheaper prices, but better food and better bar is Sammy's on Highland Road.

Eh, I'm sure Sammy's does some things better than Parrain's and vice versa, but I haven't been too pleased with them lately. Their catfish acadiana was despicable the last 2 times I got it...fish wasn't cooked all the way and the crawfish etouffee lacked flavor. They use to have a very flavorful ribeye, but again the last couple of times it was dry and burnt.

Their grilled shrimp po' boy is money, though.
