and there's really no need in playing the game?

I'm just curious.

All I'm saying is that LSU matches up MUCH better than they did with Auburn. That's all I'm really going to say this week about this game because most of you have really written this game off and all all the argument consists of is "Alabama is so much better." If I remember correctly, it's been the same the last two years and the games were alot closer than you had thought going into that game. 4-5 loss teams pushing National Championship teams to the brink.

Go.

I expect LSU to win every game. As a former college athlete, I always expect to win and have never gone into a game thinking "We are going to lose."

Obviously I understand that you win some, and you lose some. But going into the game you expect to win them all.

LSU has the talent to stay in the game with anyone. Anything can happen in college football.

I wouldn't bet on LSU, but I would not be surprised at all if we won.

This and it's all about matchups. We won't try to out think this and we'll be back to our regular D.

If the vFL TT shows up we will be fine.

Loss.

I'll still watch the game, though. I wouldn't want to miss out if our receivers finally started catching passes.

It's kind of like the Troy game. If I had turned it off like I wanted to, I wouldn't have witnessed the greatest comeback in LSU history.

I have very little confidence in Miles and Crowton so I fully expect them to lose. A win would be pretty shocking to me but I guess there's always a chance.

See, I don't know if I agree with this. Our defense (while very fast and athletic), is undersized. I can see Alabama running the ball at us over and over and eventually wearing us out in the late 3rd and 4th quarter.

Well, there's a reason they play the game.

I'm predicting Bama wins 24-17. Predictions, however, are usually worthless. When the personnel is pretty even across the board (at least to me), this should come down to two things:

1. Coaching staffs
2. QB play.

If ours shows up and gets some smarts (which I doubt), then we should win. Same for QB play, which would entail some coaching smarts that I don't think any of us have seen evidence of in public.

If JJ has more rushing attempts than Ridley like he did at Auburn, we lose this game imo. If JL gets hurt again, we most likely lose this game.

I think it'll be a close game, but I just see Ingram and Richardson wearing down LSU's defense as the game wears on. I think LSU's defense is going to be on the field the majority of the game, but hopefully I'm wrong and we can generate consistent drives.

Funny thing about those last 2 years, most of the loses came after the Bama game. In 08 we were struggling on D all year but the wheels really fell off after Bama came to BR and won. Last year we held it together a little better after we got robbed in Tuscaloosa, but my point is this is Miles defining game and he knows it. Didn't Miles say Bama is our F'in rival? He wants (and needs) to beat Saban every single year.

LSU will play their best game of the season this Sat and leave it all on the field. I just hope they can recover from this game if they come up short again.

it'll be a dogfight, but i really just can't see how this offense can sustain drives if the philosophy is the same as the auburn game.

maybe they wise up and completely shift the gameplan from one tangent to another, but you really can't expect that from this offensive staff.

I think Bama is definitely beatable,

If Bama tries to force a conventional offense down our face and we provide good coverage, I think we win.

I have already conceded defeat. It makes it much easier on me this way, and I can only be pleasantly surprised from here. It's a win-win

Might sound odd but I think this team plays better on the road- offensively for sure. They seem to have a sort of catastrophe-mindset where if things go badly they're afraid the crowd will turn. They seem to play looser on the road IMO. That said, I think we lose a game that is fairly close for a half then gets away from us.
Bama has been a bit susceptible to good passing- SC and Ark- just like Auburn was. We couldn't take advantage of that and likely won't this game. Our best shot is to take some shots at streching the field (which we haven't done much) and to put serious pressure on McElroy and force a couple of turnovers. We need good field position and solid special teams play to go along with these factors.
Our D stays on the field too much and Jones Ingram or Richardson will eventually burn us. We do have a shot but it'll take excelling at what we haven't yet.
