First day back running, it felt damn good. No pain from the injury. It's a good day.

Today is my last day out of town, I haven't had a weigh in in over a week. I did pretty good controlling my eating and working out at least every other day for the last 10 days. Between Golf, Crab Island, and the beach, I drank like it was Spring Break '05

Will update in the morning the damage

I took a self imposed break from running since Sunday. I'm going to try it today. My left foot had been killing me.

I don't know if it's my new trail shoes or if it's the grade on part of the trail or if it's something with my form. There is a section of trail that slopes downhill and you run across it, well my right foot stays flat from where the dirt has leveled off a bit but my left foot hits at a weird angle and I'm having pain in that foot.

I didn't really notice it before this Sunday when I ran which was also my first day with my new shoes. I just decided to ease off a bit so I don't aggravate anything.

almost there and FL bound Saturday. For the last 2 weeks my annual garden harvest has kept me full of tomatoes, cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, eggplant and peppers.

Beagle be careful with the shoes. I'm just getting over 6 months of Plantar Faciitis (shoe related). Not a good "Plant" to have.

What type of shoes did you get? You may want to run on easy terrain until you break them in. I also suggest lower mileage on them until you get a few miles on them. Shoes are the most important piece of equipment and you should invest accordingly.

They are Adidas Kanadia 4 trail runners. They are super comfortable and had good reviews on Amazon. I know they are on the lower end of the price spectrum but most of what I read about them seemed positive. I have been walking the dogs in them too and wearing them when I play tennis also to help break them in. I think instead of doing 2 miles today I'll just do one to see how I feel.

ETA - The pain in my foot is on the top of my foot on the side of my pinkie toe. It's pretty much gone now though.

Maybe they are to tight or to loose. Hope the problem resolves itself. If not, varsity sports could point you in the right direction.

Hulklogan,

Just wanted to pipe in and congratulate you on your longevity and continued loss. I have been watching your updates and postings... (although I no longer post here... as certain stubborness and passive aggressive "yeah well I burned at 95 gigawatts" from certain poster(s) in response to any discussion about anything gets real old real fast). We werent always on the same side of the debate but I am glad things are working out for you and keep up the good work.

Just saw this..

They are tighter than my old shoes but those things had a ton of miles on them. I'm just going to do an easier trail. It's probably been a mistake working on the trail I have been just yet. It's more strenuous than any of the others ones but it's just more convenient and it's almost an exactly one mile loop.

Sorry about the weight gain Hulk.

I messed up big time at lunch. I made spaghetti last night and I ate one small bowl. Well I took the leftovers today and I don't know what possessed me to put so much in that dish, well being the fat guy I am I ate the whole freaking thing. I know it was at least 1000 calories. Not to mention the carbs, oh god the carbs.

Well I haven't popped in since around page 276 or so but seems like the usual suspects are still here.

Saw a thread on the OT about the Ideal Protein diet. I know several women that have done it but they go to Woman's Wellness. What about men? Can they, do they and what exactly is it? And how does it work?

I'm just curious since it's all I hear about. It it's Germans well....I ain't reading 460 pages.

Men can do it at Woman's Wellness Center, but there are quite a few other places. I went to BrFit on Old Hammond and did the formal program for about 6-7 weeks and then started reading up on some online forums about alternatives which work fine and are MUCH cheaper.

Having gone through the real program at first has its benefits like accountability with the weigh-ins and you can ask questions on foods, etc. They sell you packets of pudding, jello, shakes, soups, and a couple things I am leaving off.

3 proteins (the packets I mentioned above) a day (breakfast, lunch, and after dinner snack) with veggies included at lunch and dinner and a lean protein (8oz) at dinner. I ate a lot of grilled Sirloin, Filet, and Chicken. Also, can have unlimited lettuce.

Couple phases once you lose 90% of your goal, but its primarily phase 1 for most of the time. It's pretty pricey, but works if you stick to it. I was down about 70 pds in 5 mths. I've phased off of it temporarily and added workouts but I have been stable after eating/drinking horribly at times. Key is to phase off with Phase 3.

Costs are ~300-400 up front which includes a week of packets, lots of vitamins, and their initial assessment fee or whatever it is. From there its about $90/week. There are some great alternatives I lived on for about 3 mths and I continued to lose for a lot less.

Prayers sent.

Well I skipped dinner, I'm doing a big cookout this weekend so I was busy prepping hamburgers and just felt too guilty to eat an actual dinner. Not like I needed any extra calories anyways.
