Chill out Hulk, you're getting too close to me.
Congrats dude, oh and congrats to Cad too even though he's not supposed to be losing weight.

well horse shite, but hey you'll get back at it. Maybe you can walk a little for the next few weeks?
I was told I can walk, but who wants to walk 3 miles on a tradmill? I hate just running on the damn things. The meds I am taking suggest I keep out of direct sunlight as well. I am a little depressed about the whole thing. Everything I do from sun up to sun down was to improve on running and shed some weight. Pitty party over... It could be much worse in the long term if I don't do what the good Dr. tells me to.

i dont mean to sound rude, but this is PRECISELY what i caution people about regarding exercise. your story is all too common (happened to me too) in that i got all excited and started working out too hard and blew up by hurting myself and ending up worse than before.
take this opportunity to focus on what you're putting in your mouth..and getting that under more control. you absolutely dont need to worry about when/how you're going to get more exercise right now.
dont tell youself you need it to continue losing weight; you dont. use this time to focus on losing MORE weight than you were before and when you're back and active, you'll be better off for it.

You don't sound rude at all. I agree that I do not need excercise to lose weight. I have read enough to know this is true and I will take this time to focus on the diet itself.
I do not think my injury is from to much to fast. I started working out and walking 2-3 times a week. I slowly increased both weight and distances walked/ran over time. I started with couch to 5k and increased from that point. I am running 4 times a week and working out 3 times a week. Some workouts and runs on the same day. I take at least 2 rest days a week.
The Dr said what happens could be from to much strain, b/c I told him I ran 4 miles that morning. The bottom line is its an infection and what caused it is debatable.
I guess what bothers me the most is I really enjoy my lifestyle change (working out / running) and I know one week isn't going to ruin my long term goals. Its a minor bump on the path to my goals of weight loss, being a runner, and running those 26.2 miles.

**Not directed at you CAD. Just the logical point for me to start posting here**
Anyway... Managed to go from about 190 to (my heaviest EVER) 245 since I moved back to BR a couple of years ago. Well, enough is enough. I have engagement pictures (and our wedding a year away) that I want to look good for. I'm taking this year to focus on the root of the problem, which (of course) is overeating and getting off my exercise routine, and make the lifestyle changes necessary for lifelong wellness.
To kick-start the fitness aspect, I've started doing Insanity at a moderate, "do what I can" pace. As my fitness level increases with that program, I plan on eventually being able to keep up with it, and incorporating strength building exercises to it. I've also changed my diet, and am eating 5, very healthy, small meals per day that total somewhere in-between 1500-2000 calories. Doing this, I've committed myself to cheating/"treating" as little as possible. I've also cut butter, caffeine, refined sugars (as much as possible), and bottled juices out of my diet (water only, with the occasional beer/whiskey drink).
Starting weight = 245
Current weight = 231
Goal weight = 180-195
... Excited about the progress, and ready for more, but it's tough coming to the food board and reading about the kinds of food my mind craves. I just know that I have to get my mind and body to the point where I can have small portions of those foods (on occasion) without going overboard or backsliding.
Sorry for the super long first PDFD post. TL;DR

GrizzlePickle,
First, welcome to the board. I started at about the same weight as you did. How tall are you? My goal is 205 and I'm 6'-5". You have made good progress so far. Keep up the hard work and good luck.

6'2" .... I like how I look best whenever I'm down around 175-185 and fit comfortably in a size 34 pant. I have no need or desire for huge muscles anymore, and prefer the long, lean, and tone look nowadays.
Before I moved back to BR I was living in Austin, which is a ridiculously health conscious city, and was working out for 2+ hours 4-6 days per week. I like to use the cop-out that driving to Hammond daily for school cuts into my workout time, but fact of the matter is I moved back and became lazy. First step is admitting it, amiright?

Admitting to a problem is half the battle.

Made good progress this week, less than 10 lbs from my second goal. I am determined to navigate through this weekend with as little cheating as possible.

Well, not my most successful week, but a loss of 0.2 is better than a gain!! Onward and downward.
