For me its confession time. All that McD's reek a few pages (days) ago got me craving. After my break through yesterday I have been feeling great. Today woke up and did my OM sprints and had a nice scrambled egg and bacon breakfast with black coffee.
For lunch we popped into McD's. Did I get a plain tendergill with side salad and toss the bun? NOOOOOOO

Angus deluxe, no mayo or mustard, medium fries dipped in ketchup and unsweet tea. Only 1100 cals, 113 carbs and a miniscule 1900mg sodium. needless to say I'm puffed like a blowfish and the pooch belly is back.

I'm doomed. Having my wifes homemade shrimp stew for supper and Easter Buffet tomorrow.

Just thought I'd share.

Sorry, Bench. It happens. Get back up and keep going. Remember, we're in this for the long haul. What would always get me is that I'd blow it and then one day would turn into two - then three - then, I'd forget I was even trying.

Just keep going. Make it up tomorrow and then,

DON'T GO TO MCDONALD'S!!!!!

255/224/195 3.1.11

I've lost 31 lbs. in 54 days.

So, I keep falling off my non-plateau that I was on last week (11 straight days without any weight loss at all). I've never done this long enough to make it through the first plateau, so I've also never experienced the drop after breaking through the plateau.

Now, I've lost 6 pounds in 6 days. I keep eating about 1500 calories a day and have added in swimming to my biking, so I am getting good exercise 3 times a week.

How long should I expect the drop to continue before I hit the next plateau? How much do you think I might lose before I stop losing again at the rate I'm going?

conventional wisdom is that most people stall after losing roughly 10% of their body weight. in fact i read where its actually a good idea this happens as your body is getting caught up with what is happening to it.

If you get stuck going to McDonald's, their salads actually aren't bad, except for the sodium in the meat.

But yeah, just pick it back up. That's what matters. Everyone falls off once in a while, getting back up on that horse is what changes everything.

no you're not. don't get defeated

calories vs. time. you simply need to increase the time period vs. calories over the next few days a little more and you'll be fine.

biggest problem most people have is they eat one bad meal and then feel like they've messed everythign up.

here's a secret: ONE BAD MEAL/PIG-OUT will not hurt you (if you don't do it every day) so get your butt back in gear. no excuses. your body will probably 'dump' most of that pig-out anyway.

what you do NOT want to do is get in the 'habit' of pigging out every day (or a 2nd time in the same day) or yep..it will reverse your weight loss in a hurry.

bench..you'll be ok. really.

Thanks for all the support.
I'm Catholic so guilt is life factor. I confessed and thus forgiven. However, they don't call it guilty pleasure for nothing. (Flip Wilson would say "the devil made me do it")
Did I mention I'm old?

My downfall was not ditching the bun and subbing the fries for the salad which is an easy fix.

Cheating is an important part of maintaining sanity on a long diet.

Thin people eat huge meals all the time. They just moderate in between their bad days, thus we need to learn to do the same.

BUT they need to be few and far between.

I couldn't eat nearly the same amount of crawfish at the boil today. I bet I ate about 15 pounds last year and I probably only ate about 7 or 8 this year.

I did eat a ton of garlic and 1 potato.

My bane for the day was the jalapeños poppers. If they had set a tray with 200 down in front of me, I would have eaten 200.

I will have a nice kick in the balls from the scale tomorrow but it was worth it to have a nice break. Back to work tomorrow.

Plus I needed to give Cad a glimmer of hope before I snuff it out.

Went to a shrimp boil this afternoon. No crawfish up here in Alabama, but a friend of mine from NOLA decided he wanted to have some people over and boil shrimp, so we go the Zatarain's and did our best.

It was awesome.

I probably ate my weight in boiled shrimp, corn, and sausage that was thrown in. We were all sitting outside at folding tables with newspaper spread around peeling shrimp and eating like crazy. I felt like I was back home.

No potatoes, no dessert. They had ice cream.

I drank water and still stuck with my meat, vegetables, and fruit rule.

I'll be heavier tomorrow from the salt and water weight, but I don't care. That was much needed. I only had about 300 calories all day before I went and I went and worked out, swam, and worked in the yard all day. I'm probably okay, overall.

First of all, Happy Easter to all, and HE is risen.

Well not a happy diet face this morning. Had half a cheeseburger, yes with the bun, at Port of Call in NOLA yesterday. Gained a half lb?

275/226/175

Had traditional biscuit and cinnamon roll after 7:30 mass with family, figure I had 85g of Carbs and it's only 10 AM. Oh well tomorrow is another day to get the "Weight loss train back on track".

Don't worry shaw, I've probably eaten 500 calories in jelly beans and mini reese's. I've pretty much chalked up today as a major loss as well. Back on the wagon tomorrow.

Well from 191 to 194.4!

It was worth it. Need a nice break to tune up the engine, plus lots of that is sodium that should flush out the next couple of day.

Back to work for me. Although there is a crawfish cook off right down the block next weekend.
