LSU was 97th.

But NO... clearly the lack of a passing attack is what's costing LSU any chance at winning the SEC. If only we'd fire Crowton and start JLee, we'd be absolutely friggin awesome. The running game is irrelevant.

Clearly, that's IT! That must be IT!

Whereas, Bama finished 12th in Rushing Offense and LSU finished 90th. But I'm sure running for 215 yards a game had nothing to do with Bama's success. It must have been the superstellar 187 passing yards per game that Bama threw for that made 14-0 possible.

You HAVE to have the threat of a vertical passing game. This open up the running game and play action. Which is what Bama has done for 2 years.

bama had a really, really high rushing ranking and they did it without an option offense

think about that

Is our oline and RBs anything like Bama had last year?

In the absence of such a dominating run game, some passing may be required.

And how many 3 and outs did they get? What's their overall offensive ranking compared to ours?

Bama can afford to be so slanted because they have proven players who can carry the offense on their backs and run with it. You might have heard of one.....I think he won some trophy....

LSU's running backs are decent....but we haven't proved that we can do that. And all indications are the the answer is no

Bama had the threat and ability to pass to win when they needed to though. Someone pointed this out last night about the Iron Bowl. McElroy had to step up and he did.

1) Bama had a much much better running game last year than LSU

2) They weren't giving up tons of sacks (LSU was).

3) Their defense last year is better than LSU's will be this year.

It's pretty simple.

Bama had a dominant defense and dominant running game, so all they needed was a serviceable passing attack, which they got. Their QB, much like Matt Mauck, Matt Flynn, etc... just had to manage the game and distribute the ball to the playmakers.
