I have had great martinis with:

Hendrick's
Boodle's
Miller's
and Plymouth

I like my gins in that order....any other ones I am missing?

Me too...I want to like Saphire more...its a little flat to me if that makes sense. Maybe its just me bc its the most popular high end gin in America probably.

i'm not too concerned with viewing popularity as off putting when it comes to hard alcohol. For me it's about what does and doesnt make me sick. I've been sick on some high end vodkas and gins before, but Sapphire and Grey Goose have always treated me well.
That being said i'm defineitly not one to think I'm hella rad for ordering a grey goose and tonic.

Give it a try as an evening drink. Very few calories compared to Beer.

+1

Edit: I don't drink martinis a lot but when I do I like something salty with it. Like pretzels or cashews.

I prefer Hendrick's for a Martini and Bombay Sapphire when I make a Gibson.

I've been enjoying quite a few gin and tonics in the evening with my homemade cucumber bombay as well... Smooth and refreshing.

Do you just drop some cucumbers in the bottle?

The Hendrick's actually works best with this, as it already has cucumber undertones, but I had a bottle of bombay from a neighbor, so...

You have to skin and seed the cukes first, or else they'll bitter the gin. Then slice 'em thin so there's more surface area overall, put 'em in a big jar and fill the jar with gin. Shake the jar a couple or three times a day and taste periodically until you get the taste you're looking for. Strain the gin, squeeze out the cucumbers through cheesecloth, and funnel the liquid back into the bottle. It'll keep for several months, but it never lasts me that long.

Infuse Cucumbers with your favorite Vodka and it's tons smoother than any gin.
