Could you ever make the transition to single-cup coffee? It's just not the same. Even if you brew your favorite coffee in one of the individual cups, it's just doesn't taste the same to me. Does anyone else agree?

That might just tick me off. One cup is just enough to get me started. I drink probably three or four in the morning, and then one in the afternoon to combat that after lunch crash.

I brew single cups quite often. I don't use a machine at all though. It's always either french press or one of these with fresh ground coffee in it:

Ah, see, I'm talking specifically about the Keurig and similar machines. I should have been more clear.

You know ... with the prepackaged individual cups of coffee. It just doesn't taste the same even if you use your own, say Community, coffee in it and run it through the machine.

And it also kind of takes the "art" out of brewing coffee, IMO.

A single cup coffee press makes a very good cup of coffee.

I bought a keurig thinking I could use my own coffee. It just doesn't work. I know this because I've found at least three different K-cups I like better than my own coffee when used with the machine.

The Aeropress does as well.

I have a Nespresso Latissima and it makes awesome espresso drinks. I bought it because I didn't want all the hassle of a full esspresso machine. It's neat, easy, and makes great coffee with a push of a button. For regular coffee I use a press.

We have the Keurig at home, and it I have trouble finding coffee the I like. There are a few that are good though. I have a small french press that I use at the office for my afternoon coffee. I have a larger (4 cups) coffee press for the mornings at work. I just cannot drink that Folgers crap that the company buys.

I was about to start a thread until I found this search. Saw the Keurig at Wal-Mart and saw the K-Cups by it. I guess you guys answered my question. I'm not buying one.

so you use the of those expesive assed machines that requires you to use the manufacturers coffee for the life of ownership of said machine. That has to be the stupidest purchase you will aver make. Go to Higland and buy the sigle serve, insulated French press.

Thank you for your generalizations. I am sure I can come up with some of your purchases that are quite stupid to the rest of us.

I am a pseudo coffe snob. I don't like drip Maxwell House, Folgers etc. In fact I find it odd that Community Coffee is even considered good at all. At least the drip kind.

I have a Keurig at the office and at home. It is one of the best things I have ever bought for myself.

I buy only dark roast, full bodied coffee from Keurig for me. I like Black Tiger, Double Black Diamond, Jet Fuel, and Wolfgang Puck French Roast the best. I buy a mixture for clients (decaf, flavored, tea, etc.) They love it and I don't have to brew a pot when they come in.

I buy direct from Keurig and buy so I get a discount and free shipping. Comes to about $.50 a cup. More expensivd than brewed. Less than going to Starbucks or the equivalent.

Every cup is fresh and hot and consistent. And I find that I drink less because it is not sitting there.

its convenient, easy, and there is nothing to clean up.

No I hate the single cup brewers. You know what is real good...the French Press...but it's not easy or convienent.

I used to use one of those at work with the hot water dispenser. I think they do alright.

Coffee snobs do not brew their own coffee...single or multiple. We go to Starbucks every morning.
