Any advice on moderately-priced hotels? I don't want to stay at a La Quinta, but also not at the Hermitage. I'm much more interested in something downtown (or near downtown) so I can walk around to eat and drink. I think I understand that to accomplish this, I won't be that close to the stadium, which is perfectly fine. TIA

They're very active and they'll hook you up!
Arnold's on 8th Ave. S. is hands-down the best meat and three, but they only serve lunch and only do it during weekdays.

On Friday night, if you're 20-26ish, go to the Midtown cluster of bars - The Red Door, Broadway Brewhouse Midtown, Loser's. .
20 - 26 ...Nah, First off I love Red Door, and in no way in hell is that age limit there or really anywhere around there...
Downtown is "Cheezy"(AKA-Full of Rednecks listening to the shittiest new country toons around) but Paradise Park is the place downtown if you're college or right past college age...
Sam's in the village will be a great place during the day of the game..
Nashville is a great place, I used to live there and wish I still did..

Baja Burrito - Next to 100 Oaks Mall in the Melrose area this locally owned burrito place has the best fish tacos you'll ever eat..oh and the view is OUTSTANDING. Never been there when the clientele wasnt easy on the eyes.
You're insane.

Athens Diner - Also in the same area as Calypso and Baja this place has the most amazing greek diner food. I highly recommend the dessert that I can't spell or pronounce..just tell the waitress to bring you the popular dessert..she'll know what you're talking about. Bonus: I think they're open 24 hours on the weekend.
Very good place. For Food Network viewers, this was just shown on Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives

Opryland
Home of the Gaylord Opryland Hotel, The Grand Ole Opry, and Opry Mills Mall.
The Hotel itself is phenomenal, with approximately 3,000 guest rooms, several restaurants, and bars all within.
The Grand Ole Opry is country music's most famous stage. A must for all country music fans IMO. Shows every Friday and Saturday nights. They will also be doing shows on Thursdays in September.
Opry Mills Mall is pretty much just a large mall (much larger than any in LA). Several stores and restaurants, including Bass Pro, Dave and Busters, Rainforest Cafe, and Gibson Showcase.
This area was hit pretty hard by the flood. Not sure if it will be open/ back to what it was by the time of the game.
