..and spend less on than most people?
Me:
I'm high end on groceries. If I'm cooking a steak I don't even look at the price. Goes all the way down to trash bags. Half a buck a bag? No problem as long as I know it won't break.
Low end: Clothes. I think I bought a pair of pants 5 years ago and a shirt 4 years ago. I wear clothes until there are so many holes I'm afraid to get arrested for exposure.
Wife:
High end: Books. At least 4K a year and that's with Kindle.
Low end: Jewelry. She has a lot of watches but never buys bracelets, ear rings, rings or necklaces.
Time to fess up.

I spend more when I go out to eat than most people I know do. Of course I go out less than them though.
Spend more on steaks when I grill.
Probably spend more on beer than most.
I dont' spend as much on cars, house, cable tv, cell phone, clothes, etc.

[scratches Kindle off of gift ideas for the wife]
ME: High end- Food either cooking or in restaurants. Vacations - I want to see as much of the world as I can while Im alive
Low End - Clothes. Im am perfectly happy getting decent clothes from Ross or Marshalls or TJ Max
However even on the high end Im always looking for the best deal. I may choose to stay at a 4 or 5 star hotel but Im very cheap about it.

Best store ever. I may never shop at a mall again. My wife collects all of the coupons they send out and either her or I will go hit the sale racks every 3 or 4 months if we need something.

High end - travel. Not expensive flights or hotels (just the opposite) but a lot of it. Football is a subset of this. Pet expenses just cause it makes my life easier.
Low end - cars, clothes, phone service, mortgage, food, drinks (tap water and no booze).

High: travel.
Low: housing and clothing (I only buy sale stuff).
And while we eat at some nice places when we travel, we tend to do so at lunch when it's cheaper if it's an option.

High end ... Catholic education for 2 of my kids ... other just starting college with TOPS so low end for him!
Low end ... LOTS of stuff that my family doesn't care about ... brand of milk, bread, store brand groceris.
I'm just plain old cheap for the most part ... I'm sorry ... FRUGAL!
(I'm the mom ... my husband wouldn't even think to buy store brand.)

You don't understand. She spent 6K a year on hardbacks before she got a Kindle. She's a speed reader and doesn't believe in libraries.

High End: Food and Drink. Usually eating and drinking out with friends or cooking something decent.
Low End: Clothes and Cable. The soles just fell off on my brown "dress" shoes and the shirt I have on now has holes in the elbows. I barely watch TV (no dvr or HBO/Showtime). I feel like I am behind every friend on Cable Bills.

I hear ya.
But I get my golf balls for free. I play with a guy rehabbing from a severe injury. He gives me 3 new balls every time we play as a token of his appreciation. I accept them because he cheats.

I am with you. My black dress shoes have had their soles glued back twice now.
Never had movie channel with my low end cable tv package.
