...if teams from only two confederations (Europe and South America) have won every single one (including this one?)

Maybe they should rename it the UEFA vs. CONMEBOL invitational.

Within our lifetime, a country from Asia, Africa or North America will win the cup.

Who first? I'll say African with Ghana being suspect #1 (since Nigeria insists on being a hole).

I say South Korea, Japan, U.S., Ghana and Nigeria are prime candidates.

I guess, but I wasn't going to be the first to admit it.

Thing is, Ghana seems to be the most stable of the African teams and they're putting some serious talent in the Euro leagues (top shelf stuff too).

Well a lot of west African nations are putting some serious talent into Euro leagues, but its the same type of talent. They aren't producing great passers of the ball, or great finishers. They produce strong central midfielders, strong defenders, but no attacking players with a significant amount of creativity.

I'm confident we'll win the cup at some point in my lifetime.

It'll happen before England, gets another one. That's for sure.

I think Ghana with Essien or Ivory Coast in 2014 could have or will win it.

Ivory Cost will be too old by 2014 and Ghana will again be without Essien more than likely.

Ghana got to the quarters WITHOUT Essien. They were the youngest team in the Cup, and they defend extremely well. If they get some striking power (like Essien), then they are scary.

I want to say Ivory Coast as another African team, but they can't get their shite together.

Why do you think Ivory Coast can win? Exactly what have they ever shown on the national stage?
