looking for a good place for a wedding rehersal dinner. many guests are from out of town so a place that serves some louisiana food would be nice. it needs a separate dining away from main dining room. any suggestions?

If you're in BR, Juban's does a great job.

I remember when my cousin got married the reception was at Drusilla's Seafood on Jefferson. They have a separate hall on the side for these type of functions.

It might be on Drusilla ? I know I know.

Please don't bring out of towners there.

If you're looking at upper end places in BR. I'd go Juban's, Ruffino's, Mansurs or Galatoire's Bistro. They have big banquet rooms.

If you're going cheaper casual and during the fall. I'd go Capital City Grill - you can rent out the patio.

I'd highly recommend Landry's in Pierre Part overy Spuddy's. Can always head over to The Spunky Monkey afterwards to show the out of towners a good time.

I highly recommend the Faculty Club on LSU's campus. I had my rehearsal dinner there. They did an excellent job and a very reasonable price

I was in a wedding a few years back and the rehearsal dinner was at Drusilla's Seafood. I have eaten at the restaurant a few times so I didn't expect much. However, they did a really good job with the food and service. I was impressed and considered them when we looked for my rehearsal dinner.

side note: Juban's is excellent also. Just a little more $.

I worked there 15 years ago right after the Bonannos lost control, and the food went to crap at that point. I have been there a handful of times afterwards for a work function or rehearsal dinner or what have you and it still isn't good. I worked at about 10 different middle to high end restaurants in school and I'll eat at all of them except Drusilla. I'd say it was daily that at least one glass of water was returned because of a roach in it. The kitchen was disgusting. The food wasn't much better. If money was an issue, I would honestly set up a function at my house and have my buddies cook rather than go to Drusilla.
They weren't interested in running a high end seafood restaurant. They were interested in having a high profit margin. All unnceccesary costs were cut. Sucks, it used to be nice. Awesome fish tanks.
