per ESPN

quote:

Looking beyond the Big 12 for expansion, specifically to the ACC for schools such as Georgia Tech, Clemson, Florida State or Miami, was not in the SEC's plans, sources told ESPN. The sources saw no way the SEC would raid the ACC and added serious doubt that Virginia Tech could be pried away from Virginia.

Because those whole 6 years of conference history is too much to overcome

allegedly, UVA burned a lot of political clout to force the ACC to take in VTech when they expanded. Guess there is some sense of debt or something involved here.

So assuming OU and UT go to Pac as expected, who does A&M go to SEC with? Kansas? Mizzou?

oh personally I still think VT is pulled from the ACC. I was just echoing what I'd heard about UVA potentially throwing a hissie.

That would be the ultimate irony in that UVA did whatever they could to keep VT out of the ACC previously.

I certainly wouldn't mind WVU. Not at all.

KU would come to the SEC in a heartbeat....but the SEC won't take them.

That just doesn't fit. I don't like it.

ESPN is wrong. SEC is looking at VT, UNC first, then FSU as a second option. GT and Clemson after that.

Other way around. Virginia did all they could to get Virginia Tech INTO the ACC.

i've been thinking that if A&M comes it will be with WV, more likely now that the SEC wont raid ACC

of course Mizzou is a possibility too, but I'd rather see WV

I like Ga Tech because they are a founding member of the SEC. However I don't see their triple option offense being effective week in and out in the current league

Its fricking rare when ESPN is right on anything, shite they spend more time making up the news than reporting it.
