BP needs to put a narrator on here .
We've been saying all along that a clueless play-by-play announcer (maybe Thad Allen) and a more knowledgeable color commentator (T. Boone Pickens?) would be the ideal model for a broadcast team for this thing.

The riser laying horizontally is imho got to be the long riser that was cut off by the shears.
I think they probably will dismantle it into sections so they can haul it up. Remember it is almost a mile long.
I have seen them messing with it unsuccessfully a couple of times. Both times it looked like they wanted to break it at a flange.

Something going on. Blowing on the top of the top hat. Either closing another valve to get more production or either they are closing a valve because they are froze up would be my guess.

Skandi 1 is the only ROV still looking at the leak and I don't see the top hat anymore... what happened?

Enterprise production had an alarm trigger a production shut-in last night. THey are coming back online. This triggered more oil escaping the top hat. Enterprise has approximately 60K barrels aboard and is preparing for another transfer to shuttle tanker.
Suspect pressure guage (inserted in BOP) malfunctioning.
Update on 2nd recovery effort: They are making the final revisions to the safety system on board the Q4000. Currently, the riser is being displaced with base oil; recovery through this system should start sometime today. As with the Enterprise, the recovery production will start slowly and increase.
ETA: New reports of a lightning strike on the Enterprise.

Look at Enterprise ROV 2 right now...that is the least amount of oil I have seen shooting out since they added the cap...promising?
