Push aside all incompetent BP people and just take their money to support this. Im sick of hearing false numbers by BP and "what they are going to try next." They have no freaking clue. Put a bad arse Navy admiral in charge. Our government needs to make this decision now!

BP=billion dollar profits yearly
Government=Trillion dollar defecit growing yearly

I could care less who's got a worse deficit, I just want our US Navy to take charge of this mess, and put BP as a supporting role.

Annnnd what does the Navy know about doing this?
If you think BP is incompetent, fine. I disagree, but you are entitled to your opinion I guess.
But why replace them with someone MORE incompetent with regard to oil drilling?
That seems pretty damn stupid.

What the frick does BP know about this? Not even nearly enough. BP lies about how much oil has been coming out of the pipes. Why the hell would they do that? Because they want to make us think they have it under control, which clearly they dont. Your right, the Navy does not have experience in this type of catastrophe, but are you telling me (out of two entities that really has never had to deal with anything like this before) you are going to trust a corporation (which may have some other externalities involved in decision making) to be in charge over our Navy (which will make decisions based soley on the defense of our coast line and waters)? This is a cluster fricked environmental disaster and we cant continue to trust a fricking oil corporation to be in charge.

...meanwhile, another 50K barrels of oil this past day has leaked onto the Gulf.

yeah because BP is trying to make it longer so they'd lose thousands a day

And they don't give a damn about the coast.
It isn't like they will be held responsible for any damage, and severe ecological damage would destroy the image they have worked hard for years to make.

You people crack me up with this shite. Do you think the only people trying to fix this and come up with solutions is a few old men sitting around in a BP conference room somewhere? There are many companies and gov. agencies meeting around the clock and doing everything possible to try and fix this mess.

If BP can't fix this mess, no one can. Not the Navy, not the Coast Guard, not Obama. I am 100% confident they can plug the well, it's the time frame that concerns me.
WTF does it matter that they underestimated the spill? Does that make the CBS news more spectacular if the amount of the spill has doubled in size?
Just fix the freakin leak!

Why? The Navy is great at fighting wars, but what expertise do they have at fixing oil wells/leaks?

When the military was in charge of putting out the oil well fires in Iraq, what did they do? They hired a private company with experience in that area, which is what BP has already done. Most of the firms specializing in well control are already working on this.

First of all you are angry because you read the report from the NPR show that some professor calculated the flow as 50,000 barrels by looking at it. HA.HA. BP has everything to lose on this, they need to shut it down as bad as anyone else. They are not trying to salvage the well, its useless, they will have to re drill it anyway. You are a huge dumbass.

This is true but the NAVY should be called in to help in anyway they can. Those cost should be calculated and back charged to BP.
Dont even attempt to say there is not the money for it.....there seems to be money for the rest of the Presidents Agenda.
IMO President Obama needs to do more that just pay lip service to this problem. He has an opportunity to lead and he is blowing it off.

What the hell is the Navy going to do? Launch a strike force and bomb the shite out of it? The Navy doesn't clean up oil spills. It's not what they do. the Coast Guard? I could see that and I'm actually certain that they are already helping.
This is, by far, the absolute dead bottom of the dumbest solutions that I've ever heard.
