Taking the women in the family out next Saturday for Mother's day. A couple of them aren't real adventurous eaters, so I'm trying to stick to fairly traditional N.O. cuisine, but still go to a place I want to go to. They don't eat a whole lot, and I've seen that Herbsaint and Delmonico do small dishes. Do they do these at night as well? Out of the three I would imagine Delmonico gets the most notoriety, but would it be the F & D boards first choice?

I did searches and didn't find any real conclusive answers.
TIA

If they are not much on the adventurous side, I would rule out Herbsaint.
I am quite sure that Delmonico has small plates at dinner.
I love Delmonico.

Herbsaint and Delmonico both have small dishes at dinner. If it were me I would go with Herbsaint first then Delmonico second. Both good restaurants.

Seriously?

I really wouldn't agree with this at all. Not that the place won't have what may be seen as an "adventurous" dish here and there, but it's not exactly what I'd consider off the wall pushing the edge of the envelope type cuisine.

You may be right as it has been a while since I have looked at the Herbsaint menu.
I know it is not crazy food like Stella, but I took the OP as meaning his folks were more the meat and potato with a possible fish dish kind of people.

I know some of my friends would say that Herbsaint is a little too much for them.

Either restaurant would be fine, imo. My personal choice would be Herbsaint, but you won't go wrong with the other.

If your looking at Herbsaint, you better call now. Cause that sucker gets booked up quick. If there are any reservations left at all right now for then. Awhile back I new were going into NOLA and tried about a week or so in advance and nothing was available.

Right. I think the Herbsaint Menu is about as adventurous as they might be.

Herbsaint
Delmonico
NOLA

I would rank them like that. Herbsaint is underrated by some locals IMO. Its Top 10 in the city.

I would go with Herbsaint as well. Last time I went to Delmonico, they served us a beef tongue salad. Talk about adventurous!

It is pretty good, but I wouldn't go that far. And def. don't go to the message board on there. Tom is at his worst in that arena.

He is pimping hard for Catch Grill right now too. If Vicky Baily were to open a new place and ask him to be there the day after it opened, he would be there.

TF may be knocking the bottom out of her...

Catch started advertising didn't they? That would explain it.

I have been twice...it was pretty good...nothing amazing though.
