Anyone else put vinegar on their red beans and rice?

It is something I have always done. Lately, I have been using Balsamic Vinegar...

I don't...but I know folks who put some red wine vinegar in theirs if they don't have pickled meat (which I also don't use).

The vinegar from those little green peppers if they have them,but not every time I eat red beans.

Interesting. Sometimes I put ketchup on the side of the plate. That has vinegar in it.

my parents used to slice up onions pour some white vinegar and pepper on them then take a few and put on the plate of red beans...it was good stuff

No, but, I do put soy sauce in my red bean gumbo. Sometimes on my red beans too.

I have a friend who puts what they call Top-n-johns on their red beans. It's pretty much a tomato/onion/pepper mixture in a vinegar base. It's real good. I'll try to get a recipe if anyone is interested.

That would be no.

I put a stick of butter in the pot at the end and cook. It makes them creamy and shiny.

I put a pinch of cinammon in my white beans as they are cooking. Different dimension.
