Take one paddle from the mixer and put it into a drill. Tighten drill making sure to work around the notch and then use it to mix the roux. Drill allows for better control over electric mixer.

I used to rock some pro wings and rustler jeans with ironed on knee patches where I wore them down. I didn't think twice about it. Remember the days when you just played and didn't worry about what brand of clothes you wore? Granted, I did move into Girbaud jeans and Z.Cavaricci pants but that was later on in childhood.
