I'm just saying what are the movies he was in that made you say "this guy has a wonderful career ahead of him"? And then complain about the roles he has been in of late. He never has been a great actor so I see why he isn't starring in a Scorsese film and is in a ton of kid films.

As said above School Ties. I'll add Gods and Monsters, and The Quiet American.

He was great in all three of those. He can act.

He just seems to grab the paycheck a little to often so most people don't give him the opportunity.

Which I don't really blame him. Very few actors or actresses make it for the long haul so grab all you can while you can.

And you don't have to be in a Marty film to be considered a good actor. Plenty of good actors out there never get good roles.

I also wouldn't call the Mummy kids films.

And of course CP3 will tell you he was just great in his appearances on Scrubs.

Stating the obvious. Just used Scorsese as an example. Thought that was pretty clear.

very very true. people/fans seem to take things too seriously. who cares, the dude is living the life and making money. what does he care if he has your respect as an actor, who the frick are you (not you TM36 just people).

is he not respected in hollywood? i am sure he is crying about that.

I have no problem with people who are just out to get theirs. Fraser included.

Fraser was good in With Honors too, but Pesci stole the show for anyone to really notice.

I agree these were all some of his best performances. I also liked him in "With Honors" with Joe Pesci.

EDIT: Guess I should have read all the way to the ende to see that Barry stole my thunder.

Schwartzeneggar and Stallone have picked horrible roles ever since Predator and Rambo respectively. I mean come on, Kindergarden Cop? Cliffhangar? The list goes on ad on.

John Travolta over the last 10 years has made some pretty bad choices.

When he plays a villian (Phelam 1,2,3) it's almost laughable. Then of course the family movies and comedies are absolutely dreadful(Wild Hogs, Old Dogs, Be Cool)

Travolta never plays a Villain straight. It is always over the top like a Burton Batman character.

I can't think of an actor off the top of my head whose career has fallen so much after winning an Oscar

I thought of this thread today and bumped it back up.
I saw him in Encino Man today and his best acting role ever was in the museum when he finds out what really happened. Watch it. He does one great acting job there while Rudy and Pauly try to console him.
Other than that he is crap.

Fraser doesn't try to be anything more than he is, and I'm perfectly ok with that.
