Event Horizon (movie) - what say you?

I just saw this movie a couple months back and want to know what you guys thought. Personally, in spite of this movie being made in the 90's I thought it was pretty damn disturbing and well done. I love movies like this that employ a creative or unique look at alien entities and their potential psychological advantages and/or effects on mankind. In particular, the entity's ability to manifest and tug at the strings of each crew member's darkest fears.
What say you? That movie was focked up! I also found it very similar to Sphere.

i watched it as a kid and even though i dont really remember much of it, the thing that stuck with me was me being absolutely terrified after watching it. last time i checked blockbuster they didnt have it. i do want to see it again

Agreed! I watched this movie two months ago and it scared the shite out of me and I'm 26 years old.

I was terrified after watching this movie in high school. Good flick.

As far as Sci-Fi Horror movies go, it's one of the best.

A really underrated flick. Thoroughly enjoyed it.
ETA: I always wondered at the very end when the door closes if it is just the door closing or if the demons are still on the ship and about to lay waste to the survivors and the rescue party.

Love the first half and the set up, hate the second half and the delivery. I think it just became Hellraiser in Space when it really could have been so much more. I walked out of the theater disappointed.

I think it was great but it fell apart a bit at the ending. I agree it simply became HellRaiser in space.
I am surprised they didn't make a sequel to this, but I guess the price tag to make it was much higher than the normal horror price tag.
