Was visiting a friend in Nashville last week, and we were digging through his old records and I found a copy of Steve's solo debut. Check out what he's wearing on the back cover:

He went to LSU for a semester is what I've heard.

I heard he had a house in Bay St. Louis back in the day.
Lets hope thats not a Vikings jersey.![](https://images.tigerdroppings.com/Images/Icons/IconLOL.gif)

The album is self-titled. Manassas came after.

He was at my brother-in-law's change-of-command party back in the 90's. He kind of adopted my BIL's squadron or maybe they *adopted* him. He performed at the party.
The squadron has some history: They filmed part of Top Gun in the hanger and Randy Cunningham was the CO who my BIL replaced.

That is an LSU jersey - he attended 1 semester in the late 60's. He was a military brat and his dad was stationed in Miss. It is reported on wiki (spelling) that he started his college at Uni Fla.

Are you sure that's an LSU jersey and not Vikings? I remember Dave Osborn was a RB for the Vikings in the 60's-70's, but I can't think of any LSU #41.

I looked in my old Gumbos and there is a team picture in the late 60's and the first number is obscured on one player whose second number is 1. Anyone know Del Walker's number?

It's an LSU jersey. This gets brought up on message boards from time to time and it's a shame factoids like this aren't captured for future reference.
He was interviewed by a Baton Rouge newsman when in town back in the early 80s and said he didn't attend LSU but hung out for a while with friends who did.
He was still an LSU fan and knowledgable about the success of the basketball team at that time (Macklin, Martin, et al), but noted the football team needed improvement (early Stovall era).

Stephen Stills played at the Assembly Center in the early seventies. Might have been with Crosby Stills Nash and Young. He wore an LSU jersey on stage.
He also has some Louisiana connections with Covington, LA. One of his songs mentions the Bogue Falaya River.
I dont recall what it was, but there was some connection to it all.

Everybody played the assembly center in the 70's. I was walking by the union ( free speech ally) one morning and Van Morrison was there. LSU used to be a very "cool venue". You name the band and they probably played there.

First concert at the Assembly Center - 1972 (before it was named after PM) was Stephen Stills and Manassas. I was at that concert. Stills was so stoned during the second set he forgot where he was in the music.
student tickets were I think $3.50.
(three dollars and fifty cents).
