re: Why doesn't everyone make a gumbo roux hot and fast like Paul Prudhomme? *Pics on Page 2*

You’ll see the same thing if you used coarsely ground black pepper in the flour you used for the chicken and then the roux….(if you’re following Paul Prudhomme’s recipe)
"Those folks?"

Note that during Red's tenure as coach, LSU Rugby went 187-30.....
Cruise is standing 2 rows up from Joe.
His mom gave him that nickname, you know.
re: Will Alex Bregman be promoted to SS for the Astros?
Posted by gumbeauxx on 7/19/17 at 12:49 pm to SaintNTiger
Astros will likely have Bregman play SS some - Marwin G is having a great year batting, so they'll try to keep him in the lineup. He's a very good value as a Utility player - Gurriel's batting average is also climbing (.295 right now). Bregman's proved he can handle 3rd base - Astros are playing pretty well and Hinch may not want to monkey with the lineup _too_ much.

Dude. I'm from SW LA and have lived in Texas since 1985. My dad didn't speak English till he went to 1st grade. Just because you don't live in LA this second don't mean you can't claim coonass. Cher.
Great replies already, but remember this line -
"Wow, that smells/looks really good! What is it?"
And thus you shall be fed till you pop.

Really like the way Etling controls this offense, fun to watch but seems critics say he doesn't have enough arm strength. Is he as good or better than Lee, thought Lee was pretty decent just couldn't scramble.

Condolences. I'm sure your family is grieving.
Just walk around, say "Boy, that smells/looks fantastic!", you'll be invited over.
There will be plenty of people/tailgates that will welcome you.l

Also made friends with the girl serving beer outside our section. Paid full price for the first beer then she let us give her our cup and she would refill it for $5. Don't know why she offered that up. Guess she liked us lol.
Cause she was pocketing the $5.

Look...
While he's been practicing against college players, this was his first time against a full-speed college team in a game, and in a freakingly loud stadium holding 75k people. (The dBmeter on my phone said 101dB late in the second half) While St Aug draws crowds, it's nothing like this.
You know the opposing players were in his ear every time he got tackled.
Jennings didn't help him one bit on the dropped pass.
He ran flat over tacklers at least 3 times.

re: The woes of watching my first LSU game in Shreveport

There are lots of Tiger fans in Shreveport. Sounds like you may have picked the wrong bar.
I can somewhat agree with your post, but can't agree with the thread title.
Re: tackle on the tackler --Yep. Was at the game, saw that live and then on the replay.
Big non-PI call followed by what I thought was a "make-up" call closer to the end zone. That one was right in front/below me. Glad LSU got the call, but it was a bit "fuzzy".

Some lots are pre-pay, some are pay on game-day. Pre-paid lots are sold out.

Tailgate party inside the stadium
It's not in NRG Stadium it's in Reliant Center.
$50 ($75 at the door) gets you AC, bathrooms, music, a meal (bbq sammich is one option) and a soft drink/water/tea and cash bar.

The NRG stadium tailgating policy is pretty close to BBVA Compass Stadium (where the Dynamo play) policy.
If you're going to have chairs or a table or a tent/shade, you need to buy two parking spots.
(Superdome doesn't allow tailgating on their parking lots)
NOTE: There are peripheral lots other than the NRG-run ones, but you'll probably have to pay for an extra spot for your stuff in those too.
