Those of you who thought he was going to play QB in teh SEC full time or even part time are fricking tards. Not a good enough(nearly enough) arm to compete, but great speed and amazing agility.

Guess i'm a fricking tard then. Funny considering I'm sure you were calling Pat White a fricking tard for going to play QB at WVU instead of WR for LSU.

Meanwhile the WVU offense was next to unstoppable with White at QB. Before the "that won't work in the SEC" shite gets started, WVU made a good UGA team look fricking silly in the Sugar Bowl with White at QB.

And yes, I think Russell Shepard could be better than Terrel Pryor. I think we could run zone reads, quick passes, etc. and beat plenty of good teams due to the fact that we are athletic as frick.

and WV would always lose a game or 2 when white got hurt

...and that was in the big east

Yes, we have alot of talent...but we don't have "ridiculously" more talent than the rest of the SEC. Pay attention.

Take your own advice. I didn't say we have more talent "than the rest of the SEC." Go read it again. We have more talent than most of the teams we play, ergo Miles survives despite his idiocy.

Losing to La Tech (and a shitty La Tech at that) at halftime should have clued you into the ineptitude of Miles' coaching. If we didn't have vastly superior athletes, we wouldn't have won the game. As it was, the victory was the most unimpressive over an outclassed team that I've ever seen.

But it's okay. You'll get it at the end of next season.

Pryor is way bigger and has a much stonger arm. Shepard is nothing like him as a QB.

That usually happens when you lose your starting QB.

....in any conference.

2007 LSU disagrees

plus, white would be good for 1-2 games out every year b/c he was slight and not built to run an option system

and he couldn't survive the big east. how do you think he'd survive the SEC?

That was a good backup.

I wouldn't call WV a true option team. Yes, they ran some option, but I would call them a zone team.

As for him surviving in the SEC.....A lot of things would get killed, or wouldn't work in the SEC. Urban Meyer's offense comes to mind.

I still don't get why we refuse to use Shepard in a Perrilloux role like in 07. Let HIM run the damn option, this means we're going to see more option plays from Jefferson.

I've now seen SFP argue both sides of this, and this time he is right.

And you bring up a good point with UM's offense in the SEC. It didn't work, and he re-invented it with Leak, and then went back to it for Tebow.

Tebow carried that load as long as he could, and may have done what no one else can or will do from that position ever again in the SEC. It showed by the time his career was done.

Meyer will be re-inventing his offense once again this season. Or maybe he'll sit out a year and let Addazio suffer the growing pains, unless you think their current QB is going to run Meyer's spread option attack.

We've never run the wildcat. All we do is run a QB draw with Shep. The wildcat recquires someone to be put in motion and potentially receive the handoff.

As well as an occasional play-action pass.

I'm book marking this thread for the 2010 post season, when RS has 1500 all purpose yards & 12 total TDs...

That's something that good coaches do. They change up their scheme to fit the talent they brought in. What they don't do is continue to force plays that the players obviously cannot execute.

The main reason he is at LSU and not Texas is because Texas wanted to move him from the start.

This is a fact! He ONLY came to LSU becasue he wanted to be a QB. He must be PISSED! LINK

Get ready for the "But he was given a chance" crew.

He was lied to. Now he'll be wasted at WR. That's if he even plays due to the fact he's only a sophmore.

He wasn't lied to. He played Qb in the spring and fall. Because of that It negatively affected his opportunities as a wr and rb last year.

He has been quoted as saying he would play other positions. And, he was undoubtedly a part of this decision. In short, you have no idea what you are talking about.
