I'm here, not hiding just late to the thread. I don't come on here as much in the offseason.

I'll admit to being wrong (so far), but that doesn't mean it was the right decision. I guess we'll see...but my problem was with the term WIDE receiver if he is a receiver at all, he should be a slot back or slot receiver where he can get the ball in various ways including running the ball with sweeps and reverses, as well as catching short passes. To split someone out WIDE- effectively taking the running play right out of their hands- when they are the most elusive runner on the field, is beyond stupid.

I'm still not convinced that we will see Shep as a WIDE receiver. No need for me to pile on here, because Books and SFP are making the argument better than I have or could.

You contradict yourself with a complete fail. If LSU has the MOST players invited to the combine, it makes it quite obvious we have "rediculous" talent!

And therefore the ability to coach that talent comes into question, its pure logic and it is true, OUR PLAYERS AREN"T COACHED AT THE LEVELS THEY NEED BE.

Yes, we have alot of talent...but we don't have "ridiculously" more talent than the rest of the SEC. Pay attention.

Wonder if he is pissed. Seems like he didn't have a legit shot at QB. I would say give him another chance during the spring and fall. If he can't crack the top 3, then put him at RB, WR, etc.

I quoted miles in another thread (sec rant)
saying he would put him at wr, an some at rb, so he is on the field for every play

that would be great! Now let's see how many touches crowton gives him

its not just about that although it is big, its HOW they give it to him as well...if you noticed everytime we gave it to him out of the shotgun like a zone read he got good yardage, but he is NOT a I formation back, he's not a true running back, he's a hybrid playmaker RB/WR, so you have to give him a little room to run with. I still wish they would play him at QB for a couple of series in a game just to see him DOMINATE!!!...i know he would!!!

this is where what they see in practice that we don't comes into play. The main reason he is at LSU and not Texas is because Texas wanted to move him from the start. From what I've heard "around" most people that saw him HS didn't think he could play QB at the college level.

I think this is a realistic move that will be best for us and him both. Anything that gets him on the field with the ball in his hands is going to be good for us.

He's gonna be awesome.

In your dreams!

He is 6 ft and 180 maybe.

He is in the SEC and not HS. He needs to play in space so that his moves and quickness can take over and not line up at QB where he will get killed sooner rather than later.

Do you know anything about SEC football? My guess would be no.

If we can consistently get the ball to them, we have the most dangerous(and probably youngest) wideouts in the SEC. Shepard will get the hang of being a full time wideout. at 6'1 185 he has the frame and speed.

Those of you who thought he was going to play QB in teh SEC full time or even part time are fricking tards. Not a good enough(nearly enough) arm to compete, but great speed and amazing agility.

Ford SHOULD start this year. But knowing Miles, he probably will play the two other guys bc of seniority and keep the better back(Ford)behind them until they graduate. Ford and Ware will be stars in the SEC provided we can block for them.

Jai to safety is a laugher. Dude isnt that good. Loston should start at safety provided Karnell is hurt.

We have two redshirt guys that will see some action in 2010 in Kadron Boone and Fobbs, with Boone being the more talented guy at the position IMO. Fobbs is more of a slot guy.

i agree, just have a "WANT" to see him for a couple of series at QB, then he can go play slot...

i saw him 5 times in High School, I knew his arm was not of SEC caliber, but he was very good in accuracy and touch....obviously not the gun slinger to throw a deep post over the middle but my god that kid was electrifying in college...Reminded me a lot of Arnez Battle without the arm that he had....I still think its good enough to throw a few passes...

I know that and he knows that, so does the team that he broke 75 yds for a TD on...

I stood on the field next to the guy and he is not 6-1 or 190 and the DB reference

Try getting your info from some place other than the LSU roster.

You have gone from he would dominate to he could complete a couple passes. Way to turn tail when you get called out.

Well now he'll get the ball more...and in better positions to break one. You should be happy.
