Lache question...

Now that he is gone, does everyone think they liked him more because of what his rating would do for LSU recruiting status or do you seriously think he looked like a better rb on tape than the ones we have and the ones already committed for next year?
I think we needed him more for his rating and our recent de-commits than we did as a "need" at the rb position.
Let's face it, he would NOT have played next year and then we have larger 5 stars coming in-Hilliard.
To me it is a loss in the recruiting rankings and not a big deal as far as th rb position goes.

Well it's not the reason we liked him, but since he's now a 4*, it wouldn't have helped that much.

lache is a prima donna...sure.
but i don't get the sense that he's a troublemaker like the other 2.

Yes. LSU is getting North/South RBs Ware, Gore, Blue & Worle. Seastrunk is an East/West RB.

Yes, he was more coveted because of his ranking.
But he's the same type of back as Gore.

Not a big loss imo due to LSU doesn't use backs like him.

No he's not. Gore can take it outside easily, but also likes to run between the tackles, Seastrunk does not.

Losing this guy does not bother me. He will post up bigger numbers in the Pac 10 and not win a championship. Players who come to LSU want to win a National Championship and post big numbers against the best defenses in college football.

Well I think Gore is better. But both are scat backs that will never be 20 carry a game types. They both have smaller builds and unique skills. Seastrunk has elite timed speed, Gore doesn't.

This never crossed my mind with him.
I like his speed.
I like the idea of him getting a crease running off tackle with a tight end chipping someone.
I wanted to see him taking a pitch from Shep with only one defender out there with them.

Lache is a great athlete and I guess you never have enough athletes, but part of LSU's problem is that we don't seem to have an identity on offense.
When you get two many players you have to find playing time for, especially different types of players it is difficult to have effeciency and momentum on offense.
This year everytime we got a little momentum, we would change formations or personnel packages and start the penalties and negative plays.
LSU needs to decide if we are a power run and play action team with big receivers going down field or if we are a spread team and just pick you apart with quick passes, screens and use fast light backs and receivers.
We need to decide on a system and recruit for it. As it is we just recruit all types of players and use different types of systems and it results in the inefficient offense we saw this year.

Gore looks to have the abiltiy to bounce outside at the collegiate level IMO.

Absoutely, but also will go between the tackles.

It sure is easier to lose these recruits to Pac-10 teams than our SEC competition.
I think we are in great shape at running back and the loss is not as significant on the field. But we would have loved to have him for our recruiting pride.

A lot of times these things work out for the better.

He would add a different dimension to our running game that would make it more effective. We now have a stable of punishing runners, which are more in the Les Miles and probably SEC mold. Adding speed and quickness gives a team counter punching capabilities also.

No. the national champs had exactly three difference makers at the skill positions. arenas, jones, ingram.
moral of the story, you don't need a ton of athletes to win the n.c. You need to be bigger, stronger, and faster at the o line, d line, linebacker, ect.
you look at texas, they didn't have a ton of talent in the skill positions. again, it was o-line and d-line. they had mccoy, the white kid a wr, and a decent r.b.
