Here's an article talking about Lache's commitment to Oregon by The Oregonian.

quote:

Seastrunk made the announcement Wednesday at Temple High School in Temple, Texas. And what swayed Seastrunk, a former USC commit and five-star recruit, to the Ducks? Well, it was the power of the pen – Chip Kelly’s pen, that is.

Where the hell are they getting this information??? SI article had the same thing.

also said this...

quote:

The Ducks beat out LSU, Auburn and Baylor for Seastrunk. His switch from USC to Oregon (when coach Pete Carroll left) is perhaps a symbol of a shift in the balance of power in the Pacific-10 Conference, away from the Trojans. Seastrunk said yes, you could say that.

Lache is a great athlete and I guess you never have enough athletes, but part of LSU's problem is that we don't seem to have an identity on offense.

When you get two many players you have to find playing time for, especially different types of players it is difficult to have effeciency and momentum on offense.

This year everytime we got a little momentum, we would change formations or personnel packages and start the penalties and negative plays.

LSU needs to decide if we are a power run and play action team with big receivers going down field or if we are a spread team and just pick you apart with quick passes, screens and use fast light backs and receivers.

We need to decide on a system and recruit for it. As it is we just recruit all types of players and use different types of systems and it results in the inefficient offense we saw this year.

I was crazy about Lache for his Junior year highlights.
I would not say his senior year was as good.
I certainly will follow his career and I wish him well.

Lache was wanted mostly because we had it set in our minds since last year that he was the guy for us at RB.I like Gore and think he is a nice backup/alternative to Seastrunk.Seastrunk has a much higher ceiling than Gore but also has a higher bust factor.Gore is what you see.never going to be better than he is and isn't going to be a bad player.Just a solid change of pace/rotational back with ability on the passing game.I personally am pretty satisfied that we went ahead and took Gore and didn't wait around.Even though i had already given up on getting Lache,i did have a little hope in me yesterday but I'm not disapointed at all.

Ware and Hilliard will make us forget all about Lache. I'm glad he's PAC10, It will be interesting to see how he does.

To me it is a loss in the recruiting rankings and not a big deal as far as th rb position goes.

...but I still would have liked to see him in p&g.

Now that he is gone, does everyone think they liked him more because of what his rating would do for LSU recruiting status or do you seriously think he looked like a better rb on tape than the ones we have and the ones already committed for next year?

I remain convinced that he's a special athlete. In the right situation (and maybe Oregon is that situation), he's going to produce yards, touchdowns and highlights. That's my opinion of course, but it has very little to do with "recruiting rankings".
