I never understood it. I'm not a Dallas fan or anything but why should they be hated more or less than any other team?

Same reason most people that aren't Yankees fans hate the Yankees.

The media love. The same reason people hate the Lakers, USC, Yankees, Red Sox, etc.

yanks has won most titles by leaps and bounds and had multiple dynasties and are arguably the most arrogant fanbases year in and year out regardless of record

dallas is only one of those

And what is that reason? Too successful? Hell, the Steelers have more Lombardis than Dallas. But I can see that, especially with the "glamor" factor. Proximity is important too, considering your audience here.

There are also a lot of trashy bandwagon Cowboys fans all over Texas and they get annoying.

If a redneck with an IQ of about 50 is an NFL fan, his favorite team is going to be the Cowboys 95% of the time.

Trust me, Dallas doesn't have an exclusive on trashy bandwagon fans. They are plentiful, but hardly unique.

I was speaking more to the media love, which IMO doesn't have as much to do with the "tradition" as it does their brand.

Success will bring a lot of haters. The media fawning, the whole America's team crap, trashy fans, and a huge bandwagon following are the big reasons. Me, I hate them because of their fans. They have just about the most white trash fanbase out there next to the Falcons.

I think the #1 and #2 douchebags in the NFL are Tomo and T.O. So when they were both in Dallas I hated them b/c it was toolbag city. I think Romo is a little bitch and if he ever ended up playing for New Orleans I would turn in my fan card immediately. My hatred isn't so much for the Cowboys as it is for that overhyped douchebag Romo.

lol, last time i checked new orleans was in louisiana, and as a proud native of the state, we are the last state that needs to be calling anyone else trashy with some of our residents

I don't, but their fans do. It's just another reason to despise them.

I personally grew up in California and moved to Texas when I was 7. That was about the time that Jerry Jones bought the team and fired Tom Landry, to my grandfather that was like firing God. He still followed the Cowboys but then they went and hired Barry Switzer (an ou coach) and that was it. My grandfather swore off the cowboys, I figured what was good enough for him was good enough for me. I decided I'd follow the Houston Oilers, and since I was an Oilers fan I'd be an Astros and Rockets fan too.

It's kind of a dumb reason to like teams I'll give you that, but it's served me well, because if I liked a team out of Dallas now I'd have to kick my own arse.

Edit: To give a little more insight. True Texas Longhorn fans despise Jerry Jones for being a Razorback. He loves the Razorbacks, and he hired a Sooner. You can't really be much worse of a human being unless you add loved an aggy to that list.

no matter how bad they are they get media coverage...no matter how average they are they get praised...another team does the same thing and barely gets talked about..people get tired of it. just part of being a big name team.

Pitt gets a pass alot of times because of the blue collarish view alot of people have of the city.
