How so?

He's never coached here according to his resume.

The more I see of this guy..the more I like him.
LINK

He does not have the talent, but I have seen his teams stop a couple of high end offenses....
he stopped Tulsa (50 pts + / game) and just finished stopping Houston.

Personally, I have evaluated personnel for years ...and I am very reluctant of these so called- HIGH NAME COACHES....one or two good seasons somewhere and they are now GENIUSES..not so.

A LOT of them are no longer hungry and coasting on reputation.

EVERETT WITHERS U.N.C. D.C.

has been a college d.c. at Minnesota and U.N.C., Secondary coach for Jeff fisher at Tennesse titans. He's been with u.n.c. for the past two years. His D is in the top 15 in yardage, points allowed and fewest plays.

Ellis Johnson would be my first choice. this is a guy you consider outside of the big names. he doesn't have strong ties or makes big money with u.n.c., you could attain him.

I say we make Tyrone Nix tell us no before we go after anybody else. His defense's at Southern Miss and Ole Miss have been very good and aggressive without the athletes he would have to work with at LSU. Maybe bring his brother Derrick in somehow to help work with the RBs as well.

Bruce Fowler Vandy d.c. is another under the radar guy. Solid d.c. at furman, Defense has been vandy's strength. He also coaches linebackers.

What about Kirby Smart? Perhaps he would be willing to come to prove he can be successful away from Saban.

What about Dick Jauron, not a good HC at all but he was a very good DC.

I'm still a fan of George Edwards. He has worked with some of the best in the business with a ton of NFL experience. Chavis was the uber-safe hire, but Edwards is the homerun IMHO.
