LSU fans are constantly whining about football these days and we are still a very good, top 20 team.

Saints fans will show up to every game, even if they are 3-13.

This. But Jesus, I've never seen a bigger bandwagon than some of these brand new Saints fans. I think the only way you could compare the two fanbases would be if the Saints went to the playoffs like every year. Maybe like the Eagles? They've been to a few NFC championships, but you don't hear about all of them wanting to fire Andy Reid like everyone lines up calling for Miles' head.

I went to Monday night saints game and people are tailgaiting under the over pass, and all over the place. Its totally different than LSU where the entire game day experience is amazing! Its tough to compare, College Games Sat, pro games Sunday people have to work the next day. I still say LSU fans, they never wore paper bags over their heads!

I have always pulled for the Saints but wouldn't call myself a bigtime Saints fan because I have been to about 4 games in 20 years.... Probably a lot of people like me right now all the sudden are wearing 9 Saints shirts and professing their love for the Black and Gold.

OF COURSE YOU ARE ASKING THIS ON AN LSU BOARD TOO!

Now I hope they go to the superbowl and win, I will be pulling for them the whole way.

I understand that there are bandwagon Saints fans this year, but Saints fans have always been loyal and passionate. I started following them closely when I was 7 in 1981 and thought 4-12 was a good year because it was better than 1-15 the year before. Of course, I was 7 so I didn't know what I was talking about. Still, I've been to my share of games in the Dome over the years and Saints fans are pretty passionate. Been to LSU games too and can say the same. Just frustrated with LSU fans leaving early the last few years.

No shite. I drove 15 hours in the snow in 1991 to watch the Saints play the Bears in Soldier Field in freezing weather only to get snowballs hurled at me all game while the Saints looked like crap.

I'm enjoying this season without a doubt.

plus one

Not all are of course but there seems to be a bunch of trashy trashy people that sport the B&G.
Of course LSU has its share to, but Ive been to 1000 LSU games over the years and my share of Saints games as well.

Different crowd.
Never been so disgusted with a group of fans as I was when they played in DV couple yrs ago.
Hell with them, big reason I dont give a shite about the saints.

You mean the 17,000 of us that showed up?

This hints of racism. And if you think Saints fans are that bad, you haven't seen Raiders, Jets or Bears fans.

Most support both teams so I would say that they cannot be compared.

I can see that. The NFL does have its share of "character" fans. They are usually adults which is different than in college because those fans are usually the younger ones.

But the majority of NFL fans are no different than fans of college teams.

No question, LSU has the best fans. Saints fans didn't start showing up to the games till last year. 95% of saints fans are band-wagoners.
