I hear you. I just want to see them make the Super Bowl (something I thought I would never see in my lifetime).
However, when you look at the potential of this group...
Seventeen NFL Franchises have won a Super Bowl. However, no NFL Franchise has ever won 19 games in a season. This team could change the entire legacy of the New Orleans Saints Franchise in NFL History.
People would not immediately think of the Saints as being a lower tier Franchise for 40+ years, but their first impression of the Saints would be for having the greatest (single season) NFL team ever. To me, that is worth more than 3 random Super Bowls.
Additionally, being a small market team with a great story (4 years removed from Katrina), how many young national football fans, who don't live in a NFL city, would join on the Saints bandwagon and adopt the Saints as their team of choice?
Those intangible things would go along way for the NFL to keep the franchise in New Orleans forever.
We (Saint's Nation) are witnessing something very very special, make sure to savor each week of it and enjoy the ride.

My perfect season would be the Saints winning the Super Bowl. That's it.
Why not wish for better than perfect? I wouldn't mind going perfect in the process... putting our own unique stamp as the Best Team Ever in the process.

Yes, I'd love to have a solid gold Caddy. And yes, 2 would be even better.

i think the saints might lose this game. I initially said a 7-10 point Saints win, but now i don't know. Short week, just played the biggest rival, and the defense had problems with edge runs all night....and the CAR running game was hitting on all cylinders last week.
el tigre I understand your point, but, this isn't college, these guys are professionals.Carolina has beaten us pretty good over the past three years. That alone will be enough motivation and we are at home.No let down this Sunday.Carolina will have to play perfect football and the Saints will have to lose the turnover battle.

the Saints have a great shot at 19-0!! as long as they stay focused each week and dont take teams for granted they wont lose in the dome period and i dont forsee them losing homefield advantage so that takes care of the playoffs so as long as we dont underestimate weak teams something payton is known to not let his teams do we have a great shot at being the greatest team ever and going 19-0! the first team to ever do that and on top of that change the entire saints franchise in case yall forget the mighty Steelers had one of the worst franchises in the NFL for the first 40 years of their franchise they were a team even our horrible teams of old beat every year then they won a superbowl and another and another and the rest is history with Brees by our side anything is possible Believe Saints fans this is our year its a team of Destiny even when we play our worst game look at the last game we still win this team is special enjoy every moment God knows we of all fans deserve it also if anyone knows where i can find the cover article about the saints from SI with bush leaping without actually buying SI i would appreciate it cus i would like to read it and have looked everywhere for it thanks and of course win or lose (which ive already stated wont happen) WHO DAT!!!!!!

This Carolina game is going to be a huge tell if it will happen
in going undefeated? no they'll be a different signs each week, this game is no more or less important than any other
quote:
I believe the Rams and Buccs will just roll over as both those teams just wants to put their seasons behind them
Yeah, teams don't do that, every once in a blue moon you might find one, but its very rare, even for the bad teams.
quote:
New England in the Superdome (on Monday Night). If undefeated still, this game will most likely allow the Saints to clinch the NFC South (in front of the home fans).
What? You think we'll clinch the division after 11 games?
quote:
Washington. The Redskins will have quit completely on Zorn by then.
once again, this is rare

I can't believe so many think there's like a really good shot that we win out, lol.
I'd put it at about 5%.

Not to be a pessimist, but going undefeated in a 16 game regular season and 3 games of playoffs not only depends upon having a dominant team, but it also requires some luck. Staying healthy, having the ball bounce your way, etc.
I just don't see it happening, and to be honest, I think a lost somewhere in the season would help the Saints with the ultimate goal - win the Superbowl.
If we get to say 13-0, the pressure to try to win out is unbelivable. Ask the Patriots or Indy a few years back. I'd rather be 14-2 on the regular season with home field advantage in the playoffs and win the Superbowl than try to worry about a perfect season. Like another poster said, winning the Superbowl would be a perfect season for me.

Definitely possible, but I'm going to be humble and say we lose 2

IDK, I think 3 SB wins would be better, either way is great!

just the superbowl please.
In fact, if we were 15-0 with a clinched home field i'd rather payton sit starters late second quarter.
