Although I do enjoy our uniforms scheme, I do like it when teams change it up a bit al la Tennessee and Georgia this weekend. What if we (for a game) changed to gold helmets( solid gold like Notre Dame) and deep purple ( like Washington) Not the purple pants we had under Denardo mind you, just deep purple stripes down the true gold pants. It would be a prety cool look and perhaps a motivator for the team.

Um. no. if you want to do something cool, why copy notre lame?

all white would be the only acceptable alternate in my opinion...white helmets, white jersey, white pants with the yellow and purple stripes.

What for? no need for that. I say if we are going to change uni's, let them do it like the Tulane game in '07.

We have the best uniforms in college football. They are traditional and classy. Class never goes out of style. No need to change.

I'd like to see a picture of the purple Dinardo pants. I don't believe I've ever seen them.

FWIW, I wouldn't mind changing it up a little, but I really don't give a frick either way. I remember seeing the "Tennessee" uni's in the Independence Bowl and not being impressed.

I enjoy the purple for one game out of the year, but that last thing LSU should do is mess with their brand image. You see the LSU whites, and there is NO QUESTION who it is.

Most companies would kill for that type of recognition.

I was living in Alabama at the time, so maybe some of you can enlighten me on this. I think it was during Curly's era that the Tigers had tossed around the idea of changing uni's to all purple pants and jerseys and gold (GOLD) helmets.

This was a popular style at the time and would have been similar to what UW and Colorado (both very succesful programs at the time) were doing. Does anyone remember this?

These kids eat, sleep and breathe football. They put in workouts all summer that we'd never make it through. Let's not even get into two a days.

Why do they do this? Because on 12 Saturdays in the fall, they get to hope that they will see the field a few times in front of a crowd. Hopefully, they'll see lots of plays...if all goes well, maybe they'll play on Sundays.

If they need a different uniform "look" in order to have a "motivator", they have bigger career problems than uniform boredom.

I frankly feel sorry for UT's players when I read Kiffen saying that he thought that they played with a little more intensity because of the black jerseys. What a joke.
