I know recently that On the Half Shell was bought by Brewbachers but I also just recently found out that with the deal the On the Half Shell location on Bluebonnet was shutdown and will be reopening as La Carretta.

Is the one in Prairieville any better or worse because of the sale?

I've never been to the one in Prairieville but here is a link about changes.

The owners of local sandwich chain Brew-Bachers have purchased the Prairieville location of On The Half Shell, a seafood restaurant. Details of the sale were not released, but Davis Dicharry, one of the owners of Brew-Bachers, says few changes are planned. On the Half Shell will keep its name and its 30 employees. “We really like the brand and the concept," says Dicharry, who says the only changes in the works are to start accepting Visa and Mastercard and creating a lunch menu. "A lunch menu is on the horizon," he says. There are six Brew-Bachers restaurants in the Capital Region. On The Half Shell has been in business since 1996; the Bluebonnet Boulevard location was not included in the sale.—Timothy Boone

think they stopped after a few cards were cloned. Don't think it was the restaurant itself that did it, but the company that handled the transactions.

I know the owners are also selling their house, so maybe they are looking to just retire. He has been in the business a long time so I would imagine he is tired of it.

The deal was signed this morning...remodeling will happen fast....Brewbachers at the airline location and La Carettas at the bluebonnet location.

The credit card situation was the business's fault. They did not have secured transactions.

I live across the street from the Bluebonnet location. La Carretta can't open fast enough.

My two complaints with La Carretta's.

1. They won't cook beef fajitas medium. I've asked on several occasions and they won't budge. They only do it their way.

2. How hard is it for them to make a homemade flour tortilla?

These are the two reasons why I don't go anymore. Instead, Ninfa's and Mi Padres get my business and soon to be Coyote Blues.

They make a hell of a screwdriver, only problem is they try to pass it off as a margarita. Other than that it is mexican food, have yet to eat at a place that I would put on a pedestal above the rest.

The Airline On the Half shell will stay the same and not be a Brewbachers just owned by the same people who owns Brewbachers.

The only reason i go to La Caretta every few weeks is because the hot latino bartender remembered what i liked to drink after the first time i was in there. I love great service from a beautiful bartender
