Lee got hurt against Ole Miss last year by standing in the pocket to deliver an across the middle pass to Lafell on 3rd and long. He also took a shot against Auburn for a TD passs to C Mitchell.

yeah the Ole Miss play was when Jerry knocked him out. he also took a shot on a TD pass to Dickson against UF last year. unfortunately, a lot of that gets overlooked when he makes a play like the throwaway/ cringe against Bama. on a related note, JJ stood in and took a shot on that long drive late against UGA (the first one to RR on a big 3rd down). both kids have had good moments, we just need for em to be consistent with em when given the chance.

I went back and watched the Florida game again this weekend and I found a few interesting observations about Jefferson.

First, as many have already stated, he is simply afraid. He won't throw the ball down the field unless the receiver has no defender near him.

Second, his mobility does not bring as much to the offense as some think. If my math is correct, he only ran the ball seven times for 31 yards (not including sacks). And his inability to run the option actually hurts the offense.

Third, he is not very accurate. He missed on some relatively easy passes and several of his completions were high which didn't allow the receiver to be able to run after the catch.

Fourth, he has no pocket presence. He does not know how to step up in the pocket or when to run or throw the ball away.

Finally, he simply seems like he doesn't have confidence. I normally don't pay much attention to body language, but he doesn't seem to have the confidence and leadership abilities to lead the offense right now.

I know he's still young but I think it is time to see what Lee can do this year.

So is JJ getting the message that he can play like crap, and never be benched?

Is that really the message we want the coach of an elite college to send to one of his key players?

I cant stand Saban, but I noticed he sent a clear message to his QB this past weekend.

Jefferson has not played well, but he hasn't been awful. I don't know what message you claim Saban sent but McElroy was 10 for 20 with 2 picks. We just don't have a running game that can have a 200+ rusher.

I noticed that no one is talking about our wide receivers. They are dropping balls, running poor routes and not blocking ahead of pass or running plays. Not true on every play, but you must make good effort on every play. We have people who can make big plays, but they need some help. Just some things I have noticed.Go Tigers.

Also, if you remember, Jared Mitchell dropped a perfect pass that would have beaten Alabama in regulation last year. That pass was thrown by Jarrett Lee.Check it out.

Our QBs have to improve in order for us to be a true contender

I think playing them both can really be bad! Neither one will have a chance to get in a rhythm and in all actuality, they are very similar. If you are going to play 2 QBs, RS should be one of them for the change of dimension.
