I don't the answer to this question and am bringing it here. Was ULL any good? Assuming they're about as good as Kansas St, would a 31-3 win over KSU out of the big 12 make the fanbase happy? Or was this supposed to be another 56-3 blowout like most other years?

What do people think?

I thought the defense played well against an off line that has been together for two years now. BIg stops when needed and a couple of picks.

I think ULL is better than given credit for. The Sun Belt is still a bad conference but has improved quite a bit since they started football. Middle TN beat Maryland for the second straight year and we know Troy has been decent. Arkansas St. beat A&M last year and yes I'll add ULM beating Bama. The Belt teams shouldn't give the elite much of a game but they are probably a little better than what we think.

They were well coached. Seemed to play very hard. Had agressive D and ran a solid offense. Just not enough athletes to compete w/ and SEC team. Now in their conference they'll be ok.

The spread was 28. I'd say the game went about as those in the know expected.

+1

Except the problem is the rantards think they are the one's in "the know" and that the people who set the line are idiots. Logic will never win the day here.

The more I think about these first three games, I think we have played 3 strong teams.

I really understood the level of the competition after Washington beat USC.

I really think Vanderbilt will upset some teams this year.

ULL is a very good team and they have a great chance to win their conference.

On the other hand LSU needs to improve and they will be a top 5 team at the end of the season.

I wouldn't call them a good team relative to the rest of the country but, this is probably the best UL team LSU has played in a while.

Mtsu has also gone 3-0 against powerhouse vandy and 2-1 against Memphis this decade. While I'm not saying the Sun Belt is a great conference, it is much better than its perception. It has had a winning record head to head against c-USA and mac the last two years.

It's pretty clear to me that ULL is a decent team. Not a rent a win team, but a decent team. Just like Vandy and UW. FWIW, I would not be surprised if USC (and tOSU) were to drop another game or two, neither seem that strong this year.

Contrary to expectations, LSU did not play three gimmes, they played three teams that are fairly good and competitive but that a contender should expect to defeat. The MSU game will likely be a similar story.

The good news is that this means LSU will likely deserve to be in the conversation when Florida comes calling. It simply means the Gators are the real test and we have to wait until then for answers.

The real question is how the heck far down has K State fallen?

Sometimes they are, of note the +30 UF-Tenn and the +20 USC-Wash, and many others.

If a line was set between two teams that I know nothing about, I'd be more willing to trust the line as is. If I know about the teams playing, I'd be more willing to trust myself as the one in the know.
