Just looking at their schedule, they really don't have any extremely tough games. At Oregon St could be challenging next week, but they look like they can win that. Illinois looked tough initially, but doesn't look so brutal now. IDK if WVA is up to their normal standards. USF might challenge them, possibly UCONN, but nobody really jumps out. I think they can legitimately run the table, and if there aren't two other undefeated BCS conference teams (which is possible) go to the National Championship game.

They look good tonight. They are going to destroy the big east.

doesnt matter. if they are playing those two teams ooc, thats enough. as long as the voters dont hold their preseason non ranking against them. they better jump into the top 15-20 this week though if they want a chance

they are not. they struggled with liberty saturday. wvu will turn back to dogshit very soon

yeah, there would definitely have to only be one other team undefeated

and holy shite, what if the world fell off its axis and byu and uc played in the title game

I don't think a team that starts outside the top 25 and plays in such a shity conference can make it to number 1. The Big East didn't have one team in the top 25 preseason poll, and I don't see any team besides Cincy cracking the top 15 or 20 for that matter. Strength of schedule will kill them.

The cries for a playoff would become so deafening that it would drown out any other relevant sports topic for weeks on end.

I think one of the teams from the Mountain West would have a MUCH better shot at reaching the NCG undefeated than Cincy. I think if BYU, Boise State, TCU, or Utah can run the table and go undefeated, they would easily be in the NCG. WAY too much room to make up in a horrible conference for Cincy to do that

You do know that the Big East is actually a BCS conference right? If a BCS conference had an undefeated team not make the game in lieu of a non BCS team or another BCS school with a loss the fallout would be tremendous.

You call the Big East horrible but then say Boise State would get in?

An undefeated BYU would have a much better SOS than would Cincy

Exactly. And that's been part of my argument against the autobids forever. It should be based on the individual team, not the teams it's associated with.

Sorry, thought that Boise State was in the Mountain West conference, so exclude them from that. But if BYU does run the table, you can't tell me that you wouldn't take them over Cincy

I see your point here, but you tend to play the teams you're associated with, so it's always going to factor in.

You cant be undefeated in a BCS conference and NOT make the title game (unless there are multiple undefeated teams).

with that schedule you can. the big east is essentially a mid major this year.
