And.. this town loves TJs & the baby back ribs.. Dreamland did not have baby backs.. also you just got the ribs no sides they were extra for the same price you get the baby backs & 2 sides from TJs.. and overall it was just OK.. but was always crowded the couple of times I went.

I was looking forward to the opening. We waited a few weeks for them to get the initial problems out and went for a Saturday lunch. The ribs were so dry and tough they were inedible. It seems as if they put a rub on them and roasted till there was no moisture left. We never went back, it was that bad.

The ribs in Tuscaloosa are big, meaty and moist, these were small, tough and dry. If the BR operation bought a franchise they didn't get the real recipe.

Considering TJ Ribs is aweful BBQ I guess they must not have been good. I must not have lived here when this place was open.

that's sort of my point .. i have eaten in tuscaloosa there twice and the ribs were really good .. just couldn't figure out what was wrong with the BR location ... then, wasn't BR the only "franchise" they had ?? didn't john brady and frankie culotta talk the owner into even doing that in BR ?

I wasnt in BR but they have franchises everywhere now. Birmingham, Mobile, Hunstville, etc. I personally love their ribs/sauce. I've never had a dry rib from there and I've eaten at the Mobile, Bham, and Tuscaloosa locations...

years ago, when i ate in tuscaloosa .. they used to bring the ribs out rolled up in newspaper and then dumped a loaf of bread on top of that ... the BR location was almost a white table cloth atmosphere that didn't match to me ...

Never ate their so can't say anything about quality of food....but I find people when they want BBQ just make it at home- not really go to a restaurant. I know that's how it was w/ my family...
