I honestly wouldnt mind if they brought him in to play backup to Brees. Its kind of a win-win. You wont have to pay him much so if it doesnt pan out you don't lose anything.

I'm not really sure why anyone would be opposed to it

If there is any dimension the team lacks but which it really needs, it is a consistent running game.

I'm not opposed to Vick, but we already have more options than we know what do with. I don't think it's necessary to add someone who is going to need his touches.

To get him we would have to cut one of our QBs.

Payton seems to really like Harrington for some reason, so i think Brunell would be out.

So that leaves Vick and Harrington as backups. I trust Brunell more than both of those guys. If we get the Vick of old i'd love the move. I just dont know what 2 years off would do to him.

We'd also almost definately have to make him our #2 guy over Harrington since if the number 3 QB plays, the other 2 cant come back in and with our depth at WR and now RB i dont see a spot for him at another position.

he would bring a lot to the team, but as someone already said...we have enough options on offense already.

remember in 2006 when we beat the dog shite out of Vick and the Falcons (pun intended) 31-13 in the Georgia Dome. It was awesome watching his fans turn on him.

If he means massive PR and character issues I guess he's right.

it would be nice to maybe run some clock on the ground when we have a lead, or gain a 1st down on 3rd/4th and short.

regardless if it is from the wildcat

our offense has been very good numbers wise, but within the game you can see there are some holes.

There are some holes in the offense, no doubt. But I think they're more a by-product of design and not personnel. If Payton can commit to a running game I think the personnel (at least in the backfield) would serve fine. I can't get on board with bringing in Vick as another offensive weapon.

I wonder how he'd work out at safety though.

I don't think bringing Vick in improves the team all that much, if at all. He will not be a RB getting the 3rd/4th and 1s that we covet so much. He will not be playing QB for the Saints. The Saints will not be running plays from the wildcat formation nor will they be running an option type offense. I don't see New Orleans as a good fit for what Vick has to offer.

by product of design BECAUSE of the personnel
