Brandt's but if you do go to Gino's get the champagne shrimp. Those are 2 totally different places.

Never been to Brandts, but I've heard very good things. I believe Brandts would be considered more up-scale.

Gino's is excellent. Never had a bad meal there. Same can be said for Ruffino's as well.

I'm a simple guy. I usually either go for spaghetti w/ penne pasta with one meatball and one italian sausage link OR the tortalini marinara. the shrimp champagne is good, but if you're looking for "red sauce" (like usually am) then give my rec's a go. I'm also a fan of the Gino's salad, caprese salad, and the Antipasto Francesca salad. The pizza is also quite good. i'm actually not a fan of the arancini, but a lot of people love it. really, everything on the menu is good including the fish and steaks.

Whatever it is, it isn't the service.

Both are really good choices, but it kind of depends on what you want. Brandt's is a more formal and doesn't have a fixed menu (everday they have something different and it's only 2-4 different entrees) IIRC. Gino's is slightly more casual and has a larger variety of options. Easily 2 of my favorites in town.

Also BM is a bit pricier too.

You go there because they have an old Italian lady named mama that has been running the kitchen for decades.

What doesn't do you a damn bit of good if you can't place an order.
