$150-$200 Million

That is what the MJ estate is estimated to be worth after all $400 Million of his debt is paid. Just thought I would throw that out there so we can stop with the "Who is paying for this"....or "How can they afford that" MJ questions.

That doesn't mean the estate is paying for it. Also, the city is having to foot the bill for added police and traffic enforcement. As of now, the estate has not paid for this.

yeah his personal catalog and song rights are astronomical
add in the 50% rights to the Beatles catalog that he owns and his estate is secure

This isn't relative to just that one thread. There have been numerous threads regarding his finances but no one has mentioned this yet.

Bingo. As of right now, the city with extreme budget issues is expected to pick up the tab which is what has people upset.

The $150-$200 is an early prediction by some. A few have said his song catalog might even fetch a cool Billion.

This is the only thing in the slightest that concerns me about this damn public memorial. If LA pays for the added cops/security and doesn't get anything for this from the so called "Jackson Estate" then its no wonder California is in the shape they are in and they probably deserve most of it.

That's a lot of money. But just imagine if he had been smart with it, invested wisely, instead of buying monkeys and shite. He could be up there with Sir Paul, ironically because of his Beatles catalouge ownership.

I thought he ended up relieving that several years ago, and that Paul McCartney was trying to buy it..??
Maybe that never ended up happening though...

his 50% of Beatles catalog is leveraged by two loans he took out so it isn't as lucrative as it could have been
but his personal song catalog and the rights to songs he wrote or produced is enormous

You do know him and Paul got in a bidding war over it and at the time Paul had more money than MJ and could have bought it? I think it went to $36 Million. Don't let whay Paul says fool you. Numerous people said PM had the chance to buy it but didn't.

They have petitioned the estate and AEG asking for them to cover the bill, but as of now nothing has been settled. They can't just not provide security though. So even if the estate and AEG fail to come through, the city is going to have to be there and foot the bill for it.
