Does this moment seem to be lost on alot of people? I mean, its pretty much the difference in winning and losing the National Championship. Would it be this underrated if it were still a 1 game championship?

I completely agree, because if this hadn't happened we wouldn't have won, save for us having a shutout in game 2, which clearly could not have happened that night.

No, it would rank up there, not equal to though, to the hit by Morris and Cresse...that is the problem with 3 games series, the one game format loses a lot of its luster...

I'm pretty sure its just because it happened a week and a half ago and isn't current anymore.

DJ, deserves more credit for his play during the whole tourn than he gets,,,, reg, super reg, and cws.
People slobber over JM and CJ.... without DJ, we dont win a NC.
Offense and Defense.

I believe that DJ's hit w/2 outs in the ninth of game one was so big I stated last week I thought he deserved to be MVP and I still do...

Hell no it's not lost that guy pretty much brought home the title from his hits in game 1 and 3.

Certainly not lost on me ... DJ's game-tying double was one of my Top5 favorite LSU sports moments of all time. I was standing right there in the left field foul pole corner, it was un-frickin-believable to get such a huge hit with two outs in the biggest ballgame of the year. If we don't get that hit, I think Texas is probably the national champions today.

No offense to Mitchell, but I thought DJ should have been MVP of the CWS.

I think the answer to your question can be found in the title of your thread.

Game tying hits will never be remembered as well as game winning hits.

Everyone remembers Chris Burke's 18th inning shot to beat the Braves in the playoffs, but does anyone remember light hitting Brad Ausmus' two out bottom of the ninth homer to send the game to extra innings?

As far as Lemahieu is concerned, what about his steal of second and subsequent move to third that allowed Mahtook's single to score the winning run in that game?

How about Mitchell's plate patience to lead off the fifth in game 3 after the Texas tie in the bottom of the fourth. Down in the count, he works a walk and moves to second on a passed ball to score on Mahtook's double.

There's many little pieces that are arguably as important as the next in every big game.

That was the most important moment of the World Series for LSU this year. IMO

This play stands out in my mind more than any other play of the CWS.
