Obviously, the outcome isn't what was I was looking for...but it was a hard fought battle just like I expected. The 'foul' ball was botched, but that's a part of the game. I gotta wonder though...couldn't they just see where it hit the dirt to reverse the call? I dunno...

I have to wonder about LSU's pitching situation though. Does this change anything really?

ETA: You guys had some spectacular defensive plays. 4 of those plays were only capable by a CWS caliber team.

Good luck Monday. I wouldn't mind seeing CSF out early.

I don't believe it changes the pitching situation...in fact LSU may be in better position because of it.

No pitcher (except Renaudo) threw that many pitches...it was like pitching by committee. In fact, AR could possibly come back on short rest.

a good chance? You have to face CSF and their ace. Then possibly Arky, good luck.

I believe CSF is starting their ace for the next game...I didn't see the game but reading on the SEC rant CSF started their 3rd pitcher against Arkansas today...

Still have to beat CSF's best pitcher.

Our pitching situation may have been improved.

Coleman threw about 15 pitches. He'll start on Monday. Ross will be ready for game 3.

Since Ranaudo got pulled so early he will get some extra rest as opposed to the 7+ inning pitch-a-thons that he's been in.

That UVA team can HIT the ball. Our defense saved us. The fair/foul call helped us but was not decisive. It happened early and the batter got a single afterwards.

Goood Game UVA. Good Luck!!!

The foul ball was a mistake, but if both sides are honest it really didn't have any impact at all. The batter came back and got a hit anyway. For those who want to argue this, you could also say that shimpf should have caught that ball. So in the end it all baleanced out. The difference in the game was LSU has been there before and was relaxed late in the game in pressure situations. UVA has a damn good team, I fully expect to see them again.

Yep, tight game.

The Cavs were pounding Renaudo.

Thought they were going to bus through with a really big inning every inning.

If they did then serves them right for being that cocky to think that they could beat Arky with their 3rd best pitcher.
