"If" is the key word. If Cecil Collins hadn't snuck into some strange woman's bedroom he might be a 5-time ProBowler by now. If Reggie Bush didn't go down on first contact he might be a 1,300 yd back. "If"s don't mean shite.

Do you think Porter is a waste of a pick b/c he got hurt and didn't even play most of the season?

No. The Saints needed to pick up a cornerback early in the draft last year. They didn't need to trade away a #2 for Shockey. That was a luxury that didn't pan out. "If he has an all pro year he won't be (a wasted pick)". You can say "if" about a lot of shite and cross your fricking fingers and hope your fairy godmother grants you your wish. If Grant and Smith have all pro seasons the Saints will go to the Superbowl. No shite!!!

If I read your question right, and buy means "his best years are behind him" then sadly I sell . But I've said it before...why oh why do we not at least have some younger faster projects on the roster?

this isn't even a fair comparison, because Shockey had a history of injuries, bad behavior and poor play in NY. We knew yet ignored the facts that were sitting there, and the Giants and their fans were ecstatic that the Saints took this guy and his problems off their hands. Porter on the other hand was a rookie that has no history in the NFL at all.

Not to mention we needed a CB. We do not use our TE enough to justify the price we paid for Shockey.

What a limp observation you've just made. No one even knows if you have any idea what the point is because you decided to take a jab at someone without even telling why. Maybe you just didn't understand my point. And that's OK. I don't insist you agree. I'd just like to know why you're a horses cock & balls.

I read the thread, so I did understand the point, but you didn't.

let's try again, but it's already been done and you missed it...TWICE.

This thread is buy or sell. 1 poster said IF Shockey has an all pro season this year, we should trade him after the year to make up for the wasted draft picks we lost.

The next guy resonded, making a GREAT POINT, saying how would it be wasted if Shockey was an all pro.

You then responded that THAT post, which was a good post, with your if if if talk. That poster didn't start the "what if", he responded to it, for the 3rd time, with a good point to his post.

But you missed that, over and over and over.

No he didn't start with "what if" you ignorant slut. The statement I was responding to started with "if". His whole statement was a gun loaded with blanks because of "if". Maybe you slept through reading comprehension in 4th grade, I don't know. If you only want to see things from one side that's your perrogative. But don't come at me half-cocked because the school system failed to give you the tools to make a comprehensive argument.

We needed a TE, but after we decided to pass up on Olsen, I didn't understand trading a 2nd round pick for Shockey.

Olsen went in the first round.

Shockey was traded for a second round pick...

"If" is how you start off an excuse.

If Drew Brees's shoulder is OK.

If Deuce is recovered from his knee injury.

If this new Payton guy knows what he's doing.

If, if, if!!!

Well, your statement about Bush going down on first contact is patently false, especially when you look at game film...
