I think I would just take the few more steps to get to DiGuliou's if I was heading that direction.

frick that place. I will never go there. their only draw is that they are downtown and there is nothing cheap around there.

I remember the pizza tasting kinda like cardboard at best.

Isn't it owned by the same shmucks who own Walk-Ons, Happy's, Roux House, et al?

yes. S&Gs is aweful and more expensive than mellow. The service is terrible and I hope they close. That is all I have to say about that

Correct me if I am wrong, but doesn't S & G's get their pizza frozen from Deangleo's ?

I dunno, but the other two places opening up there are both restaurants as well (Rock'n'Sushi & a Sammich Shop). So, from the bridge up to the I10 on-ramp, there will be...

Um... carry the 2...

12-15 restaurants? (I'm counting Chelsea's as a restaurant for the purposes of this discussion).

that's what i was thinking .. i used to be an ivar's, zee zee's, and diguillio's regular at one time .. there's not THAT many people that go to that little one square mile area to eat and drink in a given evening .. something's gotta give ... and team landry needs to stop expanding for awhile too ..

It's a Jimmy John's that's opening right? The best thing about that place is that they deliver, the sandwiches really aren't all that special.

When construction began there were whispers of a Brennan Family restaurant going there, now it's devolved to Shlitz and Giggles? Typical Baton Rouge.

The only time I've ever found Schiltz to be good was at 2am hammered, and right after Gustuv it was one of the few places opened and I was so damn sick of eating PB&J that it made it taste decent.

I guess every great area needs its crappy restaurants. This will fit that category at the overpass.

They are gonna try do the same thing at S AND G Perkins as they are trying to do at walk ons coursey in my opinion.

WO coursey...they are trying to get enough business during football season to make money all year IMO.

At the new S and G....they are gonna try to take advantage of St Pattys day to get them through. Can they make that much cash on that one day? Can it be done?

I know for a fact that Ivars and Zee Zees have slowed down tremendously since the bulldog opened, and i see most of the bar business coming from ivars/zee zees...and i dont think people are gonna drive from the bulldog after the bar closes on that stretch of perkins to get pizza...its a fricking cop haven. The good thing about the downtown location...you can walk there and its in the middle of everything. Late night has gotta be where most of their business comes from...and I dont see late night business being there at that location.

And as far as lunch business goes...who the frick would choose S and G over Jimmie Johns, Parrains, Acme, Rock and Sake, Dijulios, Zeeland Street, ETC. Good luck pulling people away from those places for lunch Schlittz.

So, unless their master plan is to open more bars in that vicinity around it to feed late night food business, which could very well be their plan, I dont see it making it. But, if fricking Zippys can make it right there, this place probably will too. The owners will pump money into it from somewhere to keep it going even if it aint cutting it.

I think there's a market for it. I welcome more in the area. Their lack of beer selection is ridiculous though. BTW- digiulio's is way overrated.

I'd be willing to bet they are going to try and get in the delivery game being that close to Southdowns and campus.

I do agree, that their restaurants really do suck.
