Well, today is one of the more interesting scenarios in my young, broke, graduate school life. I have officially run out of ramen and mac and cheese, so I had to resort to the mass amount of canned vegetables in my pantry that I've been avoiding. I decided to make a poor mans vegetable soup.

In a 10 gallon pot, I have 2 cans of each of the following: green beans, corn, sliced carrots, sliced potatoes, and mixed vegetable meddle. For liquid I have 4 cans of beef broth, 2 cans of chicken broth, and topped it off with water. Added some cayenne, salt, oregano, hot sauce, and some seasoning concoction my relatives gave me. It's been cooking on low all day.

This has to feed me for a week. Hopefully it works out.

Her's a tip, La. hot sauce is your friend. Also, drop in a few bay leaves if you have them...will make a world of difference in flavor. Lastly, add some body..."thickenin', an old country woman would call it...mix 1/2 cup of flour with 1 cup of milk until smooth, incorporate into the soup.Add more if you don't get the consistency you want. Hope all is good.

No milk at all. I do have some canned PET evaporated milk. Will that suffice?

I'd go with water and it will be fine.

nice bottle of marchesi di barolo

been at least a week since i cooked, been messing with this since first thing in the morning (smoked the tomotoes)
