I don't care what anyone says. I have done it with and without and it works....
Of course I am from Acadia parish and do not have a clue how to boil crawfish. Apparently now-a-days you have to be from Baton Rouge on east to know how to boil. Sorry for the rant.
I put 2 sticks in with the veggies and potatoes, then a stick for each batch of crawfish. Real butter of course.... Have fun, I'm jealous.

I know what you mean. I have a rabbit's foot keychain and I have never died in a car crash. That shite works too.

just so u don't pour your seasoning on top after it's finished. seems like everyone i've talked to from out that way did that.

my former in-laws did not however so it must be selective

I've put a stick in with the potato's before... didn't notice much difference in peeling the crawfish though.

I don't think it's gonna ruin your boil.

Awesome. I'll fight you if you try to drop butter in my crawfish pot, but I applaud you for calling out the board.

This is what I do as well. I think butter might make more sense when boiling shrimp since those are hard to peel more often than crawfish are. But then again, I've never tried butter, so I can't say that it does or doesn't work.

I still get amazed when I see someone purging with half a bottle of morton's. Kills me everytime. Or half a bottle of tony's once they're in the ice chest.

Now I am guilty of putting a little olive oil in my boiled shrip to loosen the shells.
