Houston Restaurant Recommendation

Celebrating a birthday tomorrow. I'm looking for something in/near the loop.
Usually a big fan of steak. I've been to Fleming's before. Considering another visit to Del Frisco's. But I'm also trying to figure out some other options. Any recommendations?
I'm open to any type but generally prefer American cuisine or steak. Looking for something nice and moderately + priced.

My favs (when I lived there)
- Bombay Palace (saag paneer ftw! YUM!)
- Thai Pepper (love the rice smushed into the shape of a football for guys & butterfly for girls)
- James Coney..dman. I'm really salivating now..get a box with 4 loaded coneys w/ onions and chili...heaven
- Cafe Adobe (Westheimer) white-sauced seafood enchilads..omg to die for!! Stuffed with shrimp, crab, some kind of fish...
- Gyro place on Montrose..can't remember the name..excellent tzaferi sauce
- MEXICAN! THat place where ZZtop used to eat..and "Red" of fighting burning oil fields in Kuwait fame..what is that place? Is Marvin still the waiter who brings scalding plates out on his bare arms? He's the man. I had one rule when I went there..."NUMBER 8!" Can anyone remember the name of this place? Its close to downtown..
- Club "No Minors". (oops, you said "food" right?
) well if you want a killer margarita..look no further.locaed in 'el patio' off westheimer near voss.
eta Leo's!!!! That's the one I'm thinking of. GOOD STUFF.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE Americas! Their CHURRASCO steak is phenomenal and the atmosphere is really eclectic and cool.

Yep! That's him. His stuff is all over Leo's. Firefighting suits, etc. Man I'm missing me some Leo's right now..used to work right down the road and would walk there every Friday for lunch..I would look forward to it ALL WEEK.

Vic and Anthony's downtown has a good steak.
If I had to limit it to one choice, go with Mark's :

I used to love to watch him dance with Ginger Rogers.

try Benjy's (the new one on Washington) for trendy.
For steak Del Friscos isn't a bad choice. I like Vic & Anthony's downtown...
FYI: Rockets play in town tomorrow night...

Go at like 5 or 6 on Friday or Saturday afternoon and you will walk right in.
Don't forget to get the salad bar. shite is amazing. Fresh bread, cut your own fresh cheese from blocks, plenty of great salad fixings. You also pick out your own steak.
I took the family out to eat there about a month ago....me being fresh out of school, i felt like a baller for doing so, then realized how much it was going to cost me.
